Man, the world is obsessed with the monkey king or something, so much based on him and HIM ONLY!!! Serious! it's easier to find a character based on Sun Wukong than in The Journey to the West in general!!😂
Well, he _is_ one of the most overpowered characters ever created. Not even mentioning his Havoc in Heaven, he has so many different powers that even he has trouble keeping track of them all. I remember reading somewhere that the Pilgrims in Journey to the West were all meant to be allegories or analogues for components of the human condition. The Monkey Awakened to the Void, in my opinion at least, represents both our childish pride and our outright refusal to die. Everyone said that protecting the Monk was meant to be his penance, but in the process, he learned empathy and self control. From where I'm sitting, they just made him stronger.
@@skylightdarkseal9517I completely agree. He was OP or at least one of the most strongest fictional characters by the time he was locked under that mountain. But after learning a few things from the journey with the Monk. He has grown not just stronger but as a character as a whole.
I think it's very fitting that there's so many different iterations of the character whose most notable powers are that he doesn't die, he can change his form, and he can make multiple versions of himself
