To call a boat “37” when she is nowhere near that because of her volume makes a 30ft catamaran “90”!

Yes, due to a very long standing & ubiquitous boat model naming convention it's not ok for Dufour to call the boat a Dufour 37.

We walked around one at the boat show in Ocean Village over the weekend. Nice enough boat, but we noticed a lack of hand holds below deck throughout the boat. I'm old and a bit wobbly. I like something to hold onto.

You are very correct. Uncomfortable even for adults. It's even worse for children)) Neither grab hold nor turn on the lights. This is a general trend for many new boats.

So many sharp edges to the carpentry. I presume that this is all veneer chipboard? Aside from being a bit painful if you fall into them, I'd imagine they will be damaged pretty easily, likely leading to the veneer starting to peel off.

Think Baldric was involved with another "cunning plan". Let's build a 30ft yacht call it a 37 and then price it as such! 😂

A 30/35 ft yacht called a 37? I call that marketing spin at best. A con, really.

      Straight misrepresentation. Completely bizarre.

Do you buy the boat by it's name? I guess it's stupid on their part, because I don't want a boat longer than 10m. I spotted this boat by mistake.

Spurling pipe! A hawsepipe goes to the outside of the hull on a large ship.

Why not naming boats as how much they are charged at mooring? Then there will be no confusing whatsoever.

So much about this boat just screams "we cut costs here".
Interior is designed like a comfort-cruiser but missing the fit-and-finish to go with it, exterior seems over simplified and lacking fine controls. No anchor hatch means you'll be cursing the boat every time you try to drop the hook. Maybe day-sail charter companies will like it?

Ridiculous price for a 33 ft plus bowsprit boat. Incredibly well designed minimalist approach means you are getting ripped off in terms of the plastic you are paying for. It’s a much better design than the similarly sized competitors but the price is almost impossible to understand when you could buy a modern 40ft Jeanneau for about half the money like a SO 409. On the plus side you could save some mooring fees with this boat of the bow sprit was taken off.

Blame your friendly central bank. Luxe euro cars are selling for over 125k, now. 250k for a sail-away boat is about right for this new era of hyperinflation we're living in. We are very far removed from the type of democratic access to boating enjoyed in the 1970s and 1980s.

30' LWL with a bow thruster? Can't believe this shape handles that poorly, mustn't think much of the perspective owners abilities.

Nice design but not realy seaworthy at first glance and realy "plastiky". Cost cutings seems everywhere. You have the feeling to be sat on a plywood stool in a cheap plastic bathtub with a mast and winches on it. And I wouldn't like to sail on her, even as a rental boat.
And well, like other commentators said, "37" for a 30'...👎 Needless to say I would never pay 200 grands for her. Sorry. As we say in French, faut pas prendre les enfants du Bon Dieu pour des canards sauvages.
In my memories Dufour was a serious shipyard in the past, now it seems to be different.

What a terrible boat. How on earth this got nominated for BOTY i do not know. "reduce moving parts" just screams "pinching pennies" to me, how the hell you could think not having a chain locker access on deck is ok is beyond me. Cheap plastic everything. And that naming scheme is downright disingenuous. Not only is it a scam from dufour to the seller, but can you imagine having to explain that every single time you arrive in a marina. "yes it's called a 37 but it's actually a 33 plus bowsprit, I swear. No no I'm not trying to cheat you out of berthing fees."
They'd have to come out and measure your boat every single time
