I had to temporarily interrupt after my 1st year due to financial reasons and was planning on returning sept 25 but with the news still being so negative towards the role there seems to be little point really the role is almost comparable to a HCA role, its not worth the financial strain and academic stress anymore. Hopefully the situation changes now that GMC regulation has been rolled out but idk
I don’t blame them but the government. You don’t know what you don’t know and being told that you’re the level of a SHO constantly by those around you will give you that hubris. Doctors are told from the start that Medicine is so wide that you’ll never know anything so be extra careful, otherwise GMC etc despite their many years of basic training. You can see the hubris demonstrated in this video, especially at the end with the animal farm quote, they truly believe that they are equal to doctors through the virtue of their training and experience. But like he’s said in his video, they’ve been fed a lie by the government and royal colleges. What he should do research on is why the change has come about. Ladder pullers and gong chasers have been actively kicked out of high positions by concerned doctors. GMC is next in the sight with a court case pending. Watch this space!
