This bag is addictive.... Instant gratification...quick and simple, the color combos are endless. Also, a great stash busting project for leftover yarn. I added a lining, as the cotton yarn holds a quilted thread very nicely. Bravo, Toni, for a fun and easy Summer accessory ❤

Thank you for this tutorial! I’m almost done with my bag. I thought the straps would be complicated, but I really love the look. I’m interested in practicing more tunisian crochet patterns. Thanks for unlocking this new level of crochet for me. 😊

I made this bag this Memorial Day weekend, in my colours (black, dark and medium blue, grey) and it is so cute! I struggled. Sis, did I struggle! But with Toni's easy to follow instructions and my own determination to finish, I did it.

Not going to lie ..I usually had doing straps but the Tunisian crochet way really made it faster than anyone I've done so far and it's sturdier. I also love how detailed you were. I made this in a couple of days on and off and it came out beautifully. I wish I could share the pic on here.

LOL, wishing I would have watched this before I made the bag. I'm realizing now that I missed a few directions on the written pattern (decreases on the final round of the square motif, and mattress stitch in the back loop only). I can only chalk it up to being an experienced crocheter and getting so into the rhythm of a stitch pattern, I don't read a pattern closely enough. This isn't the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

I’ve been working on this bag for a bit. I’m more of a slow crochetter 😂but I’ve finally reached the point of joining the pieces together with the mattress stitch. I’ve attached the first hexagon to the square, but I’m confused on how to work down on attaching the next hexagon. It’s something that’s skipped over in the video and written pattern, and I’m not sure how to go about it.
How do I mattress stitch down the next hexagon on the square? Do I need to measure out a new strand of yarn or do I use the same strand of yarn that I was already using for the first half? At what st or ch do I start mattress stitching down the hexagon?😢😭 I’m very confused, any clarification will be greatly appreciated. 😭🙏

Hello Toni, greetings from Germany. I am still working on my first bag. Your instructions are great! The bag looks beautiful! My colors are black, dark grey, light grey and green. But i have a question: i think that it ist easily possible to weave in ends directly by crocheting the next row. This ist something you do not often. But it works very well in this project.

Lisa, if you click on the little gear icon, you can choose a slower playback speed. But FYI, in my experience crochet tutorial videos like this aren't meant for you to do it at the exact same time without pausing. They're meant to show you how the steps go for you to do at your own pace, following along with the written pattern as Toni said at the beginning. There are parts of the video where Toni sped up certain steps, finished things off-screen, etc. Pausing and rewinding are completely normal and expected.
