All versions I've heard of this poem are played this way (that is to say in choral accompaniment and at a very slow pace) is there a reason for that? I apologize for my ignorance in advance, its one of my favorite poems. I just want to know if there's some hint in the rhyme scheme that clues you in to how it should be preformed. Such as how iambic pentameter is used in Shakespeare.
"There will be rest, and sure stars shining... Over the rooftops crowned with snow. A reign of rest, serene forgetting, The music of stillness holy and low. I will make this world of my devising Out of a dream in my lonely mind I shall find the crystal of peace.....above me. Stars I shall find. Sara Teasdale 1888-1933 Thanks, choir
