As a Dutch person , I watched Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo movies and it made me think that most of them, but especially the Igbo are in fact the ones who rush after cheap American hype and lose their self-identity. People prefer to speak English over Igbo, even broken English, women wear wigs to look “European”, parents give their children white names etc. Our ancestors had gone through this cringe several hundred years ago and as we all know the story, it didn’t end very well. But that’s exactly what Africans do now. What Africans have now, we’ve been dreaming to return for a long time, fresh air, natural products, living far away from noisy and polluted cities in harmony with nature. Wake up, brothers, you’re beautiful your own way, the way nature made you be. Fuck racists, don’t change yourself for them, work hard to preserve what you already have in order to silence their arrogance. Igbos, speak Igbo, teach Igbo, watch and film in Igbo, Yorubas, the same. Trust me, you’re beautiful with your traditional clothes, authentic names, spicy food and curly hair👍🏿😌
