- Our stay in the Daintree continues after exploring Cape Tribulation and The Bloomfield Track in previous episodes, we now tackle Mossman Gorge. Is it worth it? Well we've heard good things and we're excited to find out. The whole region is beautiful though, except the water is a no-go zone as we spot more big saltwater crocodiles only a few hundred metres from our campsite!! Will they walk across paddocks to find us during the night? That's where my Victorian head goes to when we see these dinosaurs in the wild!!
About Ash & his fam...
I'm a landscape and wedding photographer from Torquay, Victoria who is currently on a lap of Australia with my family - Trina, Eva & Will. I started this channel to improve my video skills, and they may still eventuate, however I'm loving the family vlog at the minute and capturing memories for us to relive forever. How it evolves in between then is anyone's guess, but help me out in the comments with what you'd like to see.

Totally agree on the commercial aspect of the Mossman Gorge tour. We were there in December 2020 (before the wet) and while it was all lovely and the bus shuttle and boardwalks are comfortable and convenient, it is overpriced. Good video and excellent photography tips!
I understand why it is like it, but there’s plenty in the area very similar at no cost. It comes highly recommended so I was a little disappointed
I live around Mossman, Douglas, Daintree.
If it's water, assume that there is a croc in it until proven otherwise. To check the water, play fetch with your dog.
If you haven't got a dog, tell a tourist it's safe to swim.
All the swimming holes have just been re-landscaped.... Something about 2 Metres of rain in four days when Jasper visited.
Newell, at the mouth of the Mossman River looks nothing like this anymore, there's a new Island in the mouth and Cooya beach has a rainforest laying around in the intertidal zone....
The cyclone and record rainfall that followed has changed the landscape in big ways
Usually you don’t have to tell the tourists it’s safe, they just get in anyway yeah? I can’t imagine what you’ve gone through over the past week with the deluge, and can’t imagine things will be back to normal for a while. I wish you well with any recovery
Those fish & chips looked delicious 😊.
Safe travelling folks!🤙
They were good!
Love your videos ash!
Glad you like them! Thanks Darce
@@AshHughesPhotos No Problem
@@AshHughesPhotos I watched all of them with Grandma Mazza, and we both loved it!
agree with the gorge - nice, but overall underwhelming and no more than you would see anywhere else up there
Apparently there’s a cultural tour that sounded pretty decent but we only found out about it after we were there
boogers yum
Yum
Pity you couldn't swim on the day
It seemed pretty fixed? I don’t know how often you can. But it’d be crazy to see at the moment with the floods
