DK Jayaraman VV Subramaniam Umayalpuram K Sivaraman, Live Concert 1980s

An absolutely magnificent concert from the great trio. DKJ-VVS-UKS had got to be one of the most colorful and iconic combos, Karnatak music must have seen, with all 3 mahAvidwAns having high regards for each others' glorious artistry.
Words can do justice neither to the quality of DKJ's magical music nor to the splendid accompaniment of VVS & UKS. One can imagine VVS with the swagger and Nonchalance of Viv Richards, when he "vAngi vAschified" and played trikAlam in the pallavi. DKJ would have started to proceed with the swaras, but VVS held him back and gave back with interest all that DKJ sang and then a bit more. They dont come any better!!!!!
What can one say on the majestic accompaniment of UKS Sir! The valam-idam balance, precision of the arai chApus, beauty of the gumukkis, verily, a lesson on the art of accompaniment and on the art of playing Mrudangam.
