FORD'S 335hp FLAGSHIP FW60 Dragging a BLOCKED Cultivator

- I have a go on Jamie Clark's fabulous 335hp Cummins 903 V8 Ford FW60 which in its Green livery is a Steiger Panther. It is pulling a Gregoire Besson Discoflex which didn't really like the wet conditions, as the the rear packer roller kept blocking. However that didn't stop us from having a good time!!

I am amazed at how quick the revs pick up even under load and that sound just heaven, full credit to you Jamie you have done a great job on her.
Love that deep throat sound when it gets in a bind. Absolutely stunning tractor!

I am really pleased for you George that you got the opportunity to have a go in that FW 60 and the thing about experiences is that whenever you get the opportunity to have a go in something like the FW there you should hold on with both hands and enjoy 😊 every single second of it until that is when they (the owner) says that you have to stop, I wish you and yours all the best and I hope that you get to have another chance of driving the FW again or something similar.
I have had an experience of an implement clogging up but it was not as bad as that, my one was when I was doing some ploughing and this is back in the day when you could burn the stubble in the fields, we did this and I then went back to the fields to run a chisel plough type of implement over the field just to bury the soot from the surface and then about one to one and a half weeks later I went back to plough the fields and by this time there had been some weed growth over the field and of course these weeds would clog up the plough, so I then cleared this obstruction and left in in the furrow so I would bury it on my next pass and of course in this spot the following year at harvest these small sections had a slightly higher yield of which is good for the farmers pocket, see you on the next vid George TA TA.

Fantastic tractor that George, my all time favourite tractor too. Get some new bearings on that packer and plenty of grease. If that doesn't work scrap the bugger !!
Omph, its the FW! What a sound. Hard to think that 30 year ago, there wasn't anything around that could touch them for power, but now Fendt 936 tops it for power and they are a regular sight.

Miss that bark. Used to see a lot of 903s in trucks here but they’re all gone now
The Steiger from near me in Fargo North Dakota, funny how after that Ford had Versatile build their big horses near me in Winnipeg Manitoba.

That looks a right pig of a cultivator sometimes the bigger the implement the more grief ya get ,personally I would get proper pissed with it keep getting blocked ,just wastes a lot of time ,loving the fw60 what a beast (cheshire cat 😁),great vid would be nice to see some other work done by the ford fw60 👍

My dad bought a FW 60 new I think in 77/78. Wow was it a beast. I think he pulled a 10 maybe 12 bottom plow. And a 42 ft. Field cultivator.

We used to have an FW-30 with an uprated pump. A real beast for raw power, but a sophisticated machine it was not. Miss having the thing around
Drove one as a lad in Norfolk near Wymondham. Am I correct that it had a deceleration pedal that reduced revs when pressed? Remember leap of faith pressing hard on the pedal when coming to the end of a row and hoping it would ease up and not power through the hedge.
Great tractor. The cultivator was as much use as a chocolate teapot though.
Wonderful tractor what a sound it makes - shame the implement appeared to be so useless, no good at all if it keeps blocking up!
Think that jamie's fw60 was mentioned in classic tractor a few years ago. The couple page article was about him restoring the beast and that there were ones like where he grew up
