I came to become her fan thanks to Joan Jett and Kenny Laguna. I loved her even better than Tina Turner because of her warmth and voice. I thought she sang River Deep, Mountain High better than Tina - God rest Tina's soul. Then come to find out, the song was introduced to Darlene first before Tina, but she was on the outs with Spector at the time, so he gave it to Tina. So, I was always pro-Darlene. But then I read in her book comments she made about Joan and Kenny, and I was very dismayed about how bitter she seemed. Joan and Kenny truly love her. That's why Joan was in her 2015 video! Now she tells everyone that she loves Joan and Kenny, but that's not the impression she gives in the book. I do believe she loves them now, but she needs to fix the impression she gave in her book- it's not a good look for her.
