Why this over the audioscape? What are the differences? The Stam has a switchable xformer so I understand that, but between this and Audioscape - why should I pay $300 more for this one specifically? I dont mean to be rude its a legitimate question, though perhaps a slightly daft one when considering that there are many clones of different products at different tiers by different manufacturers. In those cases, I find it a bit easier to identify the corresponding increase/decrease in quality and or brand reputation. This one to me seems a bit more ambiguous
Hey, you are helping us out by asking this one! If we have to compare, our 1178 has an onboard M/S processor, which opens a new world for space & depth creation. You can find it as part of the demo in this video from 3:00. We also offer separate attack & release controls for each channel, which aids the M/S mode, and also turn it into 2 mono compressors. I shall also invite you to look inside the machine, where you may find something fancy!
What I do not understand is why call it a 1178. It appears to be so far off the original with all those features. You should have called it something else because it is not a 1178.
Hi, the modern features are our take on how the 1178 can be used today, while it is definitely a 1178 design. Have you watched the other presentation? That covered how we make sure the sonic expression is consistent with the original. - Although, you maybe right. Maybe we should call it "1179"!
Absolutely incredible product!!!
