Of course this drama has these killings and evil and in another Ruyi is bad and Ling is good! The historical record states that after the Emperor participated in bad moral conduct and brought dishonor to the name of the royal family the Empress cut her hair and pulled away from the Emperor for sake of her own honor. Concubine Ling was indeed very smart and followed as the next defacto Empress for many years and bore the Emperor six children and their son the 15th Prince became the next Emperor, he actually cared a lot for all 3 of his Empress'. When you watch these dramas please don't take them as being historical facts as they are for entertainment and not historical truth!
Ling was never the empress. Her son promote her after her death. As for Ruyi, there were little to none information about her. She's not even buried with him. Looks like the only empress that he really cared for was the first empress.
@@ms.chuisin7727 if you notice I said "defacto" Empress, meaning she was head of the harem. But with six children she had to have been a favorite of the Emperor! I don't think she was the manipulative person we saw in the drama (Yanxi Palace) though. From historical records I agree with you about the first Empress being his love and all that followed were secondary afterwards!
