- David Mashabela chats to one of the pioneers of Kwaito music - Doc Shebeleza. We learn about his musical journey, from singing gospel to becoming a Kwaito star. Doc also speaks with passion on societal issues South Africans are grappling with.
As a 2k kid this podcast is really important for me in knowing the roots of SA music/entertainment . Thanks Ntate David n your team for documenting this history for us.

Loved the interview 🙌 Watched the whole thing 3hrs flat. Thought I was going to watch half half but I couldn't stop. Doc Shebeleza is a cool guy who likes soccer. I met him in the late 2000s at the 6 a side soccer matches in Randburg. The funny part is that me and my two other friends went there from Pretoria to watch games and meet up with my friends brother.
While there busy watching we thought the teams that were playing were weak and we decided to form a team right then. We recruited 3 more guys from some of the teams that were knocked out. The games were knock-outs. You don't leave the pitch until you get knocked out. Our team knocked out five to six teams in a row. We were the best.
The funny part is that we only noticed after all the games that one of the players we recruited was Doc Shebeleza😂😂😂. Because of the bond we created on the pitch he even decided to host us for a braai afterwards.
Such a bubbly person ❤️ always has been.

I love how he vibes people their flowers and that he is not downplaying Dipiano, I wish the younger generation would approach these guys for advice in terms of longevity 😊
For someone who loves music and was born in the late 90's I appreciate it so much when I hear ama grootman chatting about the musical ERA before me with such passion and indepth knowledge.
I just love how King David has improved over time... I did say in the early episodes that this is gonna be one of the best podcasts in the country. We're here already. Keep up the great work Mr Mashabela. Kudos 🙌🙌

Eh 😳 Same energy from Second1 until 3rd Hour. Honestly this is one of the BEST Interview David has ever done. Doc is the PROOF that being in an Entertainment Industry & not touching Alcohol is not a SIN. This man is OLD but he still looks CLEAN & FRESH..... Watching this interview doesn't even feel like 3 Hours.
King David interviews always , on fire sounds like no interview but flowing conversations. Hopefully Zola7 and Ntate Chomane gets invited.

I think this is one of my favourite interviews. Didn't even feel the three hours. Since the beginning of February I watch at least once interview a day (one benefit of discovering the channel late).
