Wheein has been dealing with a lot since she was a child. Her father left her family when she was a kid and she was practically raised by her grandma as her mom used to work to take care of her. She met Hwasa in middle school and they basically became family, even hwasa's parents refer to her as their daughter. Her grandma died and she felt apologetic due to some things she said and never got to apologise, she used to sleep with her grandma and from that moment on she couldn't sleep alone, so hwasa would sleep with her. During their trainee days the other three girls lived together but wheein didn't have enough money to help pay the rent so she lived with an aunt and "payed" her stay by cooking and doing house chores. Then, i think back around wind flower era her dad got her into a scandal, as he got money and basically used wheein's name and status as a guarantee that he would pay back but he never did. Wheein released a statement saying that she didn't have a relationship with her father. She went through a lot, i wish people would just let her enjoy doing music and art which is what she loves. Get to know her, she's so funny and caring and amazing and she will always have a special place in my heart

But most celebs who gets asked about their diets are bey, jlo, models ,kourtney kardashian, and actresses like scarlett Johansson or gal gadot. They usually ask cuz in america when it's for superhero movies or if the celebs have a strong yet healthy build. Fans are usually curious themselves not the actual hosts. It's never in a "omg she lost weight so quick I must know!" But the fans are more "wow she looks so healthy and sexy". The way koreans fetishize dieting is based on how quick they can lose fat (wish is unhealthy) .

I didn't notice her yo-yo dieting until this video. YES I noticed something different in the photos of 2019 on the MAMA awards. (i think it was MAMA, idk) And she looked SOOOO different. I talked about it with other MooMoo and I could even swear that Whee In on the pink dress looked like RV's Irene. it was so weird. Now that I know this I feel bad because I always thought she was one of the most gorgeous looking... I hope she stops hating herself like that...
I’m glad she has someone like Hyoyeon in her life. Hyoyeon has been through so much with people constantly calling her ugly, but she’s found a way to love herself in spite of the hate, which is what Wheein needs to do. And tbh, neither Hyoyeon nor Wheein are ugly!
hwasa is her best friend since middle school, so maybe hwasa has said something like that a lot. however, sometimes hearing it from a newer friend could have a more significant effect. so i'd say, it's nice having her longtime best friend and a new friend (+ senior) who can give her the extra push. i also agree that neither hyoyeon and wheein are ugly!
it breaks my heart every time someone asks her about dieting! she has always been so beautiful, adorable and talented (singing, dancing, drawing). She is absolutely the embodiment of pure art. Solar and Moonbyul being thin isn't bad, but its a fact that the two of them are really really thin. That's not hate or criticism. They are both thin. So most people will look bigger by comparison, even people that would normally be looked at as really thin. None of them look bad. They just all look different. And Wheein may see these differences and think she should look more like Solar and Moonbyul, when instead she just needs to look like Wheein.

Wheein's anxiety and depression might be the cause of her weight gain, not the other way around. She never really struck me as someone who's THAT stressed about her weight, so I don't feel like it's her weight gain that makes her look depressed onstage, but rather that her depression is causing her to over-eat and not exercise as much. As for her anxiety, Wheein mentioned feeling highly depressed and "falling into a slump" back in 2016 during their You're The Best era, and I could totally tell at the time. She's never truly regained her onstage energy ever since imo, but I was incredibly relieved to see when she made that huge rebound during Gogobebe and maintained her passion ever since. Wheein seems to have finally figured out how to cope with the stress of being a celebrity, so I'm not too worried for her anymore.

Her face did seem different, but when you compare them side by side, the real big difference I found were her eyes, especially her eyebrows. She dyed them and made them very straight, which altered her appearance a lot. MAybe she retouched her double eye lid because that was pronounced more but I think her new eyebrow style did a massive change to her face. Crazy what the shape of the eyebrows can do

H d it was her promoting their song Rainy Day by saying smth like listen to it during days like this or something like that. Unfortunately, a typhoon soon occur a day or two after the post. People twisted the facts and say it was insensitive of her to post a song promotion during those difficult days, and she deleted and apologised even though she uploaded the post before the incident happened.

I can relate to idols like Wheein and Yuri who tend to go on yo-yo cycles (both physically and mentally) which is probably why they’re my biases. It’s very unhealthy and fucked up but it makes me feel less alone ig? I love Wheein, I hope she can find happiness in health and balance 💛

I'm glad she has good influences around her like Hwasa and Hyoyeon. Wheein looks like the kind of person that tends to blame the world for her problems, it's a crooked place and she get's so anxious over it. But then you have healthy minds like Hwasa saying stop blaming the size 0 clothes for not fitting you, tailor clothes to your style, and then Hyoyeon saying, stop blaming the world for the beauty standards we all created, you need to start by loving yourself. I hope Wheein sees admiration and love has to start from within and not from an ever changing audience because you can never please everyone.
I think now that Hwasa has been celebrated for her beautiful body, she may be a good influence. In the past I really don’t think so. Hwasa has crash dieted (because of the company) and used very unhealthy methods. I think because Hwasa is allowed to be her natural weight, these days people have forgotten what it used to be like. Their company seems to have initiated a lot of damage to the members relationship with food.

Moonbyul has always said she feels best when not showing too much skin. IMO, Moonbyul's baggy outfits are more about modesty, and her personal style. When off-duty, she seems to favour large t-shirts, oversized blazers, and loose-fitting trousers.
During the gogobebe era and the hip era I think Wheein has become one of the most popular members in mamamoo, and after mama she was all over twitter because of her gorgeous blue hair, but I'm not sure that's just what I think.

Also I feel that video could have been at the end to kind of provide insight on some mentality improvement since she clearly states that she doesn’t think her weight defines, this is a clear step in a good direction.
weight loss + reshaping her brow shape (before she was given straight "aegyo" brows and in those photos that made people think she got surgery they were arched) can change a person's face drastically, though they did in fact edit every member's faces in those photos. i'm glad wheein seems to have found some type of way to maintain her weight and i hope her self esteem only grows, she's always been the prettiest member to me and my favorite vocalist in mamamoo

Hani's update will be up next, then Momoland Nancy, then another update then another new completely video,* I'm following this structure at the moment. I think when you become famous a lot just comes down to luck and Wheein just always got the short hand of things. She's not that famous & she blames herself for it. The other 3 members seems to have their own cult following of solo stans within the group fans. She's a good dancer, probably one of the most attractive members by korean standards and an outstanding vocal but she just can't seem to gain traction. In a way her situation reminds me of Luna from Fx.

This is so upsetting to watch. Wheein has always been my bias. At first I thought it might have been Hwasa, because I caught her during her more tomboy is looks, but every time I saw Wheein I was just blown away. And then I started learning about their personalities and I love everything about Wheein. I love how hyper and silly she is, like, how unapologetic about it she is. I love how she can go from bubbly, to sexy, to captivating, just everything. Wheein was and is still always my bias wrecker as her vocals are amazing, her personality is so cute and I never even noticed her gaining or losing weight as she always looked healthy and great? I never imagined that she was suffering with yo-yo dieting, and I've been a fan since 2015 :( I really hope she gets to accept her body more, it's normal to gain weight now and then and it hopefully shouldn't effect someones mental health so much, but as someone still recovering from an ongoing binge ED and body dysmorphia, I understand how hard it must be for her to get to a healthy mindset. Luckily it does seem that when she loses weight she still has healthy muscle and seems healthy, I just wish she could find a way to stay at a health weight and not be scared of changes. I just wanna say this: I became a MooMoo during the Gogobebe era, and Wheein was my first (and last) love. I love everything about her, including her insecurities. Why? Because she is a bright person, a warrior, someone who perseveres regardless. I don't think Jung Wheein realizes this, but neither do I believe these things to be true about myself. Like Wheein, I have struggled with yo-yo dieting as a cause of my eating disorder (I am not diagnosing anyone), and her struggles are so similar to mine. When she wasn't there during K-con LA, I was sad but now realize what the reason was. I will continue to support my ultimate bias, because this girl you guys, is a fighter and a pure soul that is misunderstood. I love you Wheein, I hope we can one day look in the mirror and be content with what we see.

She's so gorgeous, but it's sad, as while I am idolizing girls like Wheein, they are most likely idolizing other girls, thinking they're not good enough, all while, I may be idolized by other girls when I obviously do not think I am good enough, and the domino effect carries on. In a society with harsher beauty standards like S.K, Wheein is going to feel more pressured, and it really sucks, as she is so beautiful at any size she chooses, but it's dependent on self confidence, as that defines true beauty, but it is ultimately one of the most DIFFICULT things to attain. She lacks confidence, which I think is why she doesn't garner as many fans as moonbyul, hwasa, and solar. They all have seemingly more confidence, though of course still have their insecurities, but they don't let it define them and they have their own aura and image from embracing these. In retrospect, Wheein attempting to adhere to standards when she should be embracing herself makes her seem lackluster in the eyes of the public. It's a shame, but something most of us have trouble doing.

I think people always talk about Hwasa in terms of looking unique, but if you see Wheein's pictures, especially close-up pictures and concept photos, she looks the most unique and prettiest to me. I paid most attention to Hwasa and Wheein in the beginning since they both seemed to have slightly heavier bodies than most KPop idols do. I also think Wheein's hair is really pretty, it has a naturally wavy texture and always looks effortless, which is why I like it.

I’m a wheein bias since day 1 so it’s so upsetting seeing videos like this. As an asian myself, I struggle with weight throughout my teenager years until now that I’m 25 so I know the stress us girls have coming from asian country. I don’t get why wheein getting lots of hate, like people just pick her out of mamamoo for no reason and exaggerating every little thing that she does. Not only her but all of mamamoo members. The sad thing is that most of her scandals arise from their official fansite, and being backstabbed like that from fans, that’s even more sad thus I can’t imagine what it’s done to her mentally. Wheein is a ray of sunshine in my life, I have never liked any idol like i do with her. It’s also sad to see international fan address her as the least popular because in SK and neighboring Asian countries, she is very popular maybe just behind Moonbyul within the fandom. I love her so much in variety shows 2015-2017, but now she doesn’t even go on any, so it’s understandable that many international kpop fans don’t know about her. Like both of the scandals were about thing she posted on their fan-cafe which supposed to be private and people leaked it out to make her look bad. I read some comments from netizenbuzz about her scandals and people said that she should quit social media since she has no brain but she never has any social media account since the start. Wheein was actually pretty popular back in 16-17, there’s pann post and high ranking for her as she did great with Anymore. Too heartbreaking that because of these stupid fans she closed herself up a lot after 17, and didn’t even wanna do any promotions for her solo or appear in the public alone :(

At the end of 2018 Wheein was getting a lot of drama bcs her father (who abandoned her) said that he had a big debt and she wasnt helping or supporting him. This situation made wind flower promotions a really hard time for her.... Im really upset and i dont get how knetz can be so hateful with her, her personality, charisma, talent AND LOOKS are amazing.... she is a true angel, shes just really shy and has suffered a lot..... ALSO, i believe she got facial plastic surgery... her face changed a lot, became very slim while they were doing Queendom (between Ggogobebe and Hip). Her body looked the same, but her face changed a lot, also she appeared in one episode with her face really bloated (problably bcs of the surgery) and she would cover her face. That is not something to get hate, i think if that makes her more confident then i support her. Moomoos will always support and love Mamamoo bcs we see the kind and precious human beings they are.

Wheein has been dealing with a lot since she was a child. Her father left her family when she was a kid and she was practically raised by her grandma as her mom used to work to take care of her. She met Hwasa in middle school and they basically became family, even hwasa's parents refer to her as their daughter. Her grandma died and she felt apologetic due to some things she said and never got to apologise, she used to sleep with her grandma and from that moment on she couldn't sleep alone, so hwasa would sleep with her. During their trainee days the other three girls lived together but wheein didn't have enough money to help pay the rent so she lived with an aunt and "payed" her stay by cooking and doing house chores. Then, i think back around wind flower era her dad got her into a scandal, as he got money and basically used wheein's name and status as a guarantee that he would pay back but he never did. Wheein released a statement saying that she didn't have a relationship with her father. She went through a lot, i wish people would just let her enjoy doing music and art which is what she loves. Get to know her, she's so funny and caring and amazing and she will always have a special place in my heart

So most people will look bigger by comparison, even people that would normally be looked at as really thin. None of them look bad. They just all look different. And Wheein may see these differences and think she should look more like Solar and Moonbyul, when instead she just needs to look like Wheein.

Wheein's anxiety and depression might be the cause of her weight gain, not the other way around. She never really struck me as someone who's THAT stressed about her weight, so I don't feel like it's her weight gain that makes her look depressed onstage, but rather that her depression is causing her to over-eat and not exercise as much.
As for her anxiety, Wheein mentioned feeling highly depressed and "falling into a slump" back in 2016 during their You're The Best era, and I could totally tell at the time. She's never truly regained her onstage energy ever since imo, but I was incredibly relieved to see when she made that huge rebound during Gogobebe and maintained her passion ever since. Wheein seems to have finally figured out how to cope with the stress of being a celebrity, so I'm not too worried for her anymore.

Her face did seem different, but when you compare them side by side, the real big difference I found were her eyes, especially her eyebrows. She dyed them and made them very straight, which altered her appearance a lot. MAybe she retouched her double eye lid because that was pronounced more but I think her new eyebrow style did a massive change to her face. Crazy what the shape of the eyebrows can do

I think now that Hwasa has been celebrated for her beautiful body, she may be a good influence. In the past I really don’t think so. Hwasa has crash dieted (because of the company) and used very unhealthy methods. I think because Hwasa is allowed to be her natural weight, these days people have forgotten what it used to be like. Their company seems to have initiated a lot of damage to the members relationship with food.

Hani's update will be up next, then Momoland Nancy, then another update then another new completely video,* I'm following this structure at the moment. I think when you become famous a lot just comes down to luck and Wheein just always got the short hand of things. She's not that famous & she blames herself for it. The other 3 members seems to have their own cult following of solo stans within the group fans. She's a good dancer, probably one of the most attractive members by korean standards and an outstanding vocal but she just can't seem to gain traction. In a way her situation reminds me of Luna from Fx.

As a new moomoo, I never thought our most crackhead Wheepup to be the most stressful and anxious person among the members. Hopefully her mental health is getting better. Wheein either way, I will support you, your crackheadness always make us laugh, and seriously you are beautiful, you have that distinguished features and beauty, don't hate yourself :'(
This is so upsetting to watch. Wheein has always been my bias. At first I thought it might have been Hwasa, because I caught her during her more tomboy is looks, but every time I saw Wheein I was just blown away. And then I started learning about their personalities and I love everything about Wheein. I love how hyper and silly she is, like, how unapologetic about it she is. I love how she can go from bubbly, to sexy, to captivating, just everything. She also seems like the type of person to let people know some truths about themselves, like, being honest with her opinions.
Wheein is amazing at everything she does. I'm always drawn to her performances and always search her out. It just breaks my heart to see these things
My heart goes out for her what's considered fat isn't even fat and she has to deal with soo much. She LITERALLY deserves the world.
Wheein was in medication for anxiety and has gone through a lot but now she looks so much more healthier and happier, I am thankful she feels better now. A true artist and singer definetly😍🥺 we love you Wheein if you are seeing this😍
I joined kpop around the time Mamamoo released um oh ah yeah and I thought they were all so pretty. seeing their pictures when they are a bit bigger, my opinion doesn’t change. Wheein and Moonbyul were/are/will be no matter what very beautiful!!

Wheein was and is still always my bias wrecker as her vocals are amazing, her personality is so cute and I never even noticed her gaining or losing weight as she always looked healthy and great? I never imagined that she was suffering with yo-yo dieting, and I've been a fan since 2015 :( I really hope she gets to accept her body more, it's normal to gain weight now and then and it hopefully shouldn't effect someones mental health so much, but as someone still recovering from an ongoing binge ED and body dysmorphia, I understand how hard it must be for her to get to a healthy mindset. Luckily it does seem that when she loses weight she still has healthy muscle and seems healthy, I just wish she could find a way to stay at a health weight and not be scared of changes. Thanks for making this video, I never heard anyone talk about Wheein and dieting, so this is great to know!
I just wanna say this: I became a MooMoo during the Gogobebe era, and Wheein was my first (and last) love. I love everything about her, including her insecurities. Why? Because she is a bright person, a warrior, someone who perseveres regardless. I don't think Jung Wheein realizes this, but neither do I believe these things to be true about myself. Like Wheein, I have struggled with yo-yo dieting as a cause of my eating disorder (I am not diagnosing anyone), and her struggles are so similar to mine. When she wasn't there during K-con LA, I was sad but now realize what the reason was. I will continue to support my ultimate bias, because this girl you guys, is a fighter and a pure soul that is misunderstood. I love you Wheein, I hope we can one day look in the mirror and be content with what we see.

I hate society for making women feel like they're ugly, fat and not good enough when actually our bodies mean NOTHING. They don't define us, we don't have to be fit to deserve success, love or happiness. Bodies are just bodies. It's so temporary.
I hope Wheen is feeling much better now and values her mental health more than fvcking unrealistic beauty standards.

She's so gorgeous, but it's sad, as while I am idolizing girls like Wheein, they are most likely idolizing other girls, thinking they're not good enough, all while, I may be idolized by other girls when I obviously do not think I am good enough, and the domino effect carries on. In a society with harsher beauty standards like S.K, Wheein is going to feel more pressured, and it really sucks, as she is so beautiful at any size she chooses, but it's dependent on self confidence, as that defines true beauty, but it is ultimately one of the most DIFFICULT things to attain. She lacks confidence, which I think is why she doesn't garner as many fans as moonbyul, hwasa, and solar. They all have seemingly more confidence, though of course still have their insecurities, but they don't let it define them and they have their own aura and image from embracing these. In retrospect, Wheein attempting to adhere to standards when she should be embracing herself makes her seem lackluster in the eyes of the public. It's a shame, but something most of us have trouble doing.

I have clinical anxiety myself (it's social anxiety, though) and I know personally that it contributes a lot to my level of confidence. I assume the same goes for her. And not sure, you can't truly believe anything on the internet, but this video does bring up some points I acknowledge and perhaps agree with, but I don't believe the entirety of the video

I think people always talk about Hwasa in terms of looking unique, but if you see Wheein's pictures, especially close-up pictures and concept photos, she looks the most unique and prettiest to me. I paid most attention to Hwasa and Wheein in the beginning since they both seemed to have slightly heavier bodies than most KPop idols do. I also think Wheein's hair is really pretty, it has a naturally wavy texture and always looks effortless, which is why I like it.
Ngl but I'm very proud of how she actually went thru all her stress and anxiety plus she deserves more respect and recognition

I’m a wheein bias since day 1 so it’s so upsetting seeing videos like this. As an asian myself, I struggle with weight throughout my teenager years until now that I’m 25 so I know the stress us girls have coming from asian country. I don’t get why wheein getting lots of hate, like people just pick her out of mamamoo for no reason and exaggerating every little thing that she does. Not only her but all of mamamoo members. The sad thing is that most of her scandals arise from their official fansite, and being backstabbed like that from fans, that’s even more sad thus I can’t imagine what it’s done to her mentally. Wheein is a ray of sunshine in my life, I have never liked any idol like i do with her. It’s also sad to see international fan address her as the least popular because in SK and neighboring Asian countries, she is very popular maybe just behind Moonbyul within the fandom. I love her so much in variety shows 2015-2017, but now she doesn’t even go on any, so it’s understandable that many international kpop fans don’t know about her. Wheein is the most talented idol in my opinion, and I’m happy she’s being recognized better in 2019, my only dream is for her to be as famous as hwasa bc she totally deserves it but I don’t think it will happen soon unless she walks out of her self consciousness. Like both of the scandals were about thing she posted on their fan-cafe which supposed to be private and people leaked it out to make her look bad. I read some comments from netizenbuzz about her scandals and people said that she should quit social media since she has no brain but she never has any social media account since the start. Wheein was actually pretty popular back in 16-17, there’s pann post and high ranking for her as she did great with Anymore. Too heartbreaking that because of these stupid fans she closed herself up a lot after 17, and didn’t even wanna do any promotions for her solo or appear in the public alone :(

what's important is being healthy. if it's the most sustainable, enjoyable, and healthy for wheein when she's not being as skinny as she possibly can, then i want that for her as a fan. it's clear from her solo activities, yt channel, and behind-the-scenes interactions that she's someone filled with laughter and artistry. these things make me respect her, i won't ever decide that she's not worth my support just because of how she looks.

Low self esteem is one of the worst illness to manage. She has a ton of artistic potentials inside her capable of outshining something as fickle as looks and weight. I hope they gave her enough time and support so that she'd be able to fully love herself.

At the end of 2018 Wheein was getting a lot of drama bcs her father (who abandoned her) said that he had a big debt and she wasnt helping or supporting him. This situation made wind flower promotions a really hard time for her.... Im really upset and i dont get how knetz can be so hateful with her, her personality, charisma, talent AND LOOKS are amazing.... she is a true angel, shes just really shy and has suffered a lot.....
ALSO, i believe she got facial plastic surgery... her face changed a lot, became very slim while they were doing Queendom (between Ggogobebe and Hip). Her body looked the same, but her face changed a lot, also she appeared in one episode with her face really bloated (problably bcs of the surgery) and she would cover her face. That is not something to get hate, i think if that makes her more confident then i support her. Moomoos will always support and love Mamamoo bcs we see the kind and precious human beings they are.

u know i'd like to see more mamamoo in the next coming years, but if they decide to not renew the contract its okay. if they decide to become a soloist or stay away from the limelight. we know they will always find each other and do collabs if they want to. all i want is their happiness and peace of mind.
