I've never been to or seen Mackinac Island. I appreciate you two showing it to us. Wow, the Grand Hotel was really big and looked really neat. Loved the houses you passed while on the tandem bike. I've lived in Wisconsin much of my life and have been to Mackinac Island. Your trip is inspiring me to visit it again as an adult and enjoy the beauty of this region of our country!

Well, this is an interesting new venture for us all ! I have never heard of it, but I really enjoyed it. I think some people will be putting this place on their bucket list because of you. :) I loved seeing the Main streets with just bicycles parked, horse and buggy, horses. And, instead of hearing YOUR SNEAKERS on trail and their amazing crunch, I am listening to clip-clop clip-clop by scenic horses ! This is such a gorgeous place ! Loving all the green and the blue of the lake. Cute that you took the bicycle built for two. It has been a very long time since I have rode on one, but I still can understand your loss of control being in the back ! :) (we used to have a basket in the back with our sweet Beagle in it....ears flapping in the wind) Loved the beautiful sunshine too! I can hear you are all stuffed up, so I am hoping tomorrow you are feeling "breathable". :) Enjoy your night and can wait to see you soon.

I love the no car feel. I haven't been to the Island but I have been to the Straits of Mackinac and St. Ignace. This is the first time you guys have been to a corner of the world where I have actually been. But the wealth on Mackinac Island makes me feel like a total primitive on the Ontario side in Algoma District.

Mackinac Island! I have always wanted to see it. Yes, it goes back to my mother's favorite movie, but I truly did geek out on the inside when you showed The Grand Hotel! Thank you. Hey all. As a Michigander I’ve enjoyed a few visits to mackinaw Island. Have stayed at the Grand hotel and personally wasn’t impressed. Best place I stayed at was the Chippewa hotel next to the docks. Really cool place. The island is bustling in a good way but not like Gatlinburg thank goodness. Happy trails 😊

Oh my goodness - I love Mackinac Island! Rented a cottage one time with friends and spent a few days - beautiful place!

@@UnboundCrow I'm sure you know that "Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour was filmed at The Grand Hotel, based on the book Bid Time Return by Richard Matheson. The book takes place at the Hotel del Coronado which is also a grand dame hotel in San Diego that has been the set of other movies. I lived out there for ten years and just walking the beach around it was calming and special. I remember especially loving Mackinac Island's lush gardens.
We didn't get to visit the island on our trip last year. It looks amazing! I hope we get another chance someday 😊

Thanks for the great video. Have you been to Greenfield Village with all the historic US homes? I saw it in the 70's as a kid. Really enjoyed.
