Very surprised to see this broadcast that popped up from nowhere. He left us way too early. I was a classmate of his elder sister in Los Angeles when she introduced Danny to me back in 1983. Didn't get to know him much other than giving him a ride once. Can tell he really loves LA and even bought a house in Hollywood. It's only now that I'm listening back to all the songs made popular by him.
Just caught sight of this clip of Danny. Really amazed at his impeccable spoken English as we in Hk would not have heard him speaking in his shows or musicals. He was so talented and most people in HK felt so sad that he left this world at such a tender age.

Though he learnt English in Hong Kong which is arguably closer to British English, he uses quite a lot of Americanisms and lingo.😃 That results in him sounding ever so modern,even listening to him today He clearly speaks well, and is ready to correct or express himself. A case in point is when he mentioned about people "smile at you" and quickly clarifies it as "smile to you". There is a subtle difference in usage and meaning HE obviously knows it 🥰
