I also want to touch on a couple of things. The idea of it isn't that bad if we consider a lobby with teammates. It provides damage to zombies giving a faster time to kill for others. The issue in this idea lies in the fact that the time to kill zombies is really quick for anybody. The sabre does enough damage to kill zombies in 3-4 hits on most maps. Weapons simply scale up from there. The only class that benefits from the exorcism damage is the chaplain itself, whose stake does too little damage and the damage of the exorcism would be a great boost. The problem is that the Chaplain can't use their stake while using the exorcism, so it doesn't work out. Furthermore, one should see this game as a game of land control. For example, on the Vardo finale, the pier is a piece of land you want to control. Anything that helps you hold land is good. You can still lose land with the exorcism as it doesn't stop or push back zombies. The entire point of the crucifix is to make it safe to kill zombies while also regaining lost land.
Exo was great when it first came out, the cooldown was a lot longer and faster to recharge. This made more balanced as a defensive and offensive. Making it easily able to kill the viral runners really easily since of the longer cooldown. But the buff was more of a nerf because of the short cooldown for more damage. Honestly, it should’ve stayed as it was as released. It would’ve been great for offensive. The Exo cruc also had DOUBLE time of the regular crucifix, making it longer to use and one of the best when dealing with hordes. But now they kind of ruined it by shortening the time by 12 seconds.

the exorcism can be recharge even when you don’t fully use it, so you can just unequip it before it runs out out and left it with a little charge so you can recharge it instantly and spam it
I think we should have you take less infection and damage (could possibly just focus on the infection part rather than the damage reduction, though a buff in duration and cooldown would be nice) from the enemies, which would also line up with the exorcisms “canon” so to speak, as in it weakens those affected by the blight.
Instead of boring stat chances do this: runner can't tackle, only scratch, bomber can't fuse barrel, zapper won't give gashed debuff and deals 40 damege, igniters won't throw lanters if playersor buldings are near, insted of sealing damege, it makes zombies more vulnerable to damege (45% more damege from all sources, wich increses dependeding on range)
I usually use the chaplain class and the exorcism crucifix does not do much on it's own, the small chip damage it inflicts to those under the effects isn't really good, but the slowing effect does help somewhat in maintaining distance as well as allowing for more somewhat more easy picks for the classes with guns, but it isn't as good as the base crucifix. If there's anything that can make this better it's likely to be the slowdown being greater and the damage slightly increased to give viability.
My buff for this is simple basically when this is activated allied forces and you gain movement speed and swing speed like charge but nerfed a bit also you can still be tackle unlike charge and also the priest will not be targeted by runner when this is activated basically the priest isn't immune to the runner but will not get prioritized by the runner
for buff #3 as far as I know in the current patch using the exorcism crucifix does give you grab invulnerability, however you can still be jumped by runners (when I wrote the comment the title still is shown as in-date, I am unaware if the creator knows about this)
Alternatively, the devs could buff the Exorcism Crucifix and add a kind of like daze effect, and the more time the Exorcism Crucifix is used, applies 20% daze. When they (cannibals) reach 100% daze, they get stunned for 5 seconds and gain more tick damage (9.8 to 15.2) and the devs could also remove the speed penalty using it. This however doesn't work on bombers and gives the priest a defensive or offensive play-style depending on which crucifix they choose. This idea also makes players want to fully use the Exorcism Crucifix.
Buff idea: Make it stun bomber, zapper, and lantern for short period of time, and higher DMG to them (kill bomber at a range almost instantly would be good too) ,the rest stay the same.
Its kinda good (imo), you can solo leip now with the new crucifix and it acts as a temporary calt, and lowers the hp of enemies, giving your allies an advantage, and able to kill them all easily in 2 or even 1 hit without headshotting.
You...you know you can solo leipzig with the regular crucifix.....right?..... Also why would you not just play bugle? It does it even better. If your excuse is "I wanna still be able to bless people and cure infection" then sorry but you're not doing as much as you probably think you are. And if you've played hardcore even once, you'll know this item does nothing.
It’s literally useless on hardcore, only good in certain spots on certain maps at its best, make it to where the zombies take SERIOUS damage when they get closer to the exorcist cross and the problem is (mostly) solved

Actually you're onto something. What if they just kept the stats as is, but made it so any zombie that is effected by the exorcism crucifix takes 2-3x damage. That would actually be VERY useful.
I don't think think that bugle will become useless since I think it charges faster and easier that cruci(let's be honest charging with Sabre is easier than with stake) and it affects players which retain they mobility

They nerfed the long duration and hits to activate it in exchange of higher damage ticks (from 0.8 - 2.1 to 2.4 - 4.8 to 6.8 - 9.8) so yeah that’s not enough lol. Either a long duration (15-20 seconds maybe)but small damage output (maybe 7.8- 9.8) or a massive damage output (like you said: 15 -20) and a short duration (8 seconds stays as it seems alright I guess, or maybe 9.5) the damage per tick stays the same though (0.365 seconds). Just because to activate it by risking yourself hitting zombies (22 hits to activate, it used to be 15 at the last update) while being vulnerable against runners so you can have a high reward of killing large amounts of hordes which is very useful on endless. Here’s my buff ideas in summary: 1. Either nerf the speed penalty (as in walk faster when using it) and/or buff the slowness given to zombies 2. Damage and duration would be high and low or vise versa (high damage but low duration or high duration but low damage) 3. Either reduce the amount of hits (22 hits to 10 or 15 hits) and/or reduce the cooldown (40 seconds to 15 seconds)
Iirc it does 149-210 damage throughout its duration but that’s its FULL duration. (I’m not even sure abt that either) IMO I feel like the slow you inflict on yourself should but reduced to like 20% or outright negated. Another idea would be to increase the slow it inflicts of the zombies(or the range of the slow). Maybe it could also apply an attack speed penalty onto zombies, taking longer for them to attack again. If not, maybe a damage reduction while you’re using the exorcism crucifix.
Actually hittin it once will refill it. Same with bugle and officer charge. I think it can also get refilled if the sham you hit was killed by another player.
So, uh, brief balance concept summary. Just make it a strong but short lived crux. (Crux + dmg - up time) Or, make it inflict dmg vulnerability on infected.

I think it should just be like a strict 25 dmg dealt in a large radius (larger than currently) and with a lower cooldown. This'll still be good for just clean up since the zombies will be really low afterwards
This feels more in line with balance. Time to kill is so important in this game, so if this thing could lower the threshold to the point that a sabre can one shot to the torso in regular and two in hardcore, it would stay as an ideal sidegrade

for me both of these are just equally bad but divinity is a little special it not bad but the people treat it like a normal blessing which is curing infection but dude thar blessing job my job is to protect you from the infection
What's bad about the divinity? It should be able to deal with infections enough since their infection won't go up anyways, and sometimes, ppl who get infected once tend to get infected again. Put that together with an easy to recharge book and I think it's pretty good.
Divinity has a rough time helping someone recover, but it helps prevent further infection. Personally I've never used it, but blessing wowrks just fine. People hear voices, and then they stop hearing voices.
