I just got my AT last week and only tried connecting the phone last night without going for a ride. When i got AA to work, google maps didnt show up on the bike. Do you have any idea why that would be?
@HoodScotland idk what the issue ended up being. Did the android disable because you can't uninstall. Reenbaled through the Google play store and it came right up.

If there is no icon for maps on the home screen then it may be you have it disabled in your android auto app on the phone.

on my north American model the AA screen is reversed, the side menu is on the left. Interesting.
You can change it in the settings in Android Auto.
