After a search for over a week, we are sad to learn that “Shoestring Hobo,” Mark Nichols has passed.

On Friday, I learned of the passing of a friend. Mark Nichols, known to many as “Shoestring Hobo,” was a kind and gentle soul and a friend that we all loved. After a public search for over a week, our hearts were broken to learn that he had, sadly, passed from this realm. - This evening I took some time by the rails to remember Mark at a place where I watched so many of his videos while waiting on the next train. Mark was a friend that touched so many, including myself. I’ll miss him.
My deepest sympathy goes out to Mark's family and close friends.

Mark will always be remembered by those who loved him. He was a close friend and I miss him terribly.
Im so sorry for your loss John. I know you and he were good friends too. You will be in my prayers 🙏 Grief is the price we pay for love.

Poor Guy. I’m just thankful he’s been found for his loved one’s sake. May he rest in peace and may they be comforted at this difficult time.
