Real women really are train buffs! My Father gave me my first train set at age 2 and I especially love the sleek passenger sets! Amtrak is a true thing of beauty!🛤️🚝
I'm definitely a Amtrak Lover as I lived my dream of Riding the Southwest Chief for the First Time In My life in 2015 and even though I'm a Avid Aircraft Model Collector,I'm also a Avid Model Train Collector as well. Keep those videos coming.👍
Thank you! We are truly humbled. A lot of time and energy and love went into building this layout over the last few decades. Many thanks to the builders and members who keep the railroad running!
With today's technology on how far it's advanced I'd love to buy a P32BWH in the Pepsi paint scheme, buy the newest Superliner cars from Walthers (one lounge, three coaches) then add a privately owned heavy weight on behind a.k.a. the Desert Wind. Chicago to LA via Salt Lake City. Now that was a fun ride. Leave Salt Lake around midnight and get into Vegas by sunrise and ripped! It was cool listening to the GE and sucking down some cold ones. Done this twice a year for four years. Some times I'd ride the same exact train back, I took notes ya know. Great video!
The Desert Wind needs a rebirth! I have dreamt for many years of being able to go down the street to Fullerton station and take a ride to Vegas like we once were able to. Awesome story!
Cool scenes and Amtrak trains. The F40PHs were good engines. If I am correct, they're passenger-geared GP40-2s. I had read that originally, Amtrak planned on using them on moderate-to-short-distance trains, but when the big SDP40Fs were sidelined - then withdrawn, the F40PHs filled in greatly. (They also had to bring back some stored E units). Nice looking edifices around. Where do you get the piping for that chemical plant where the two covered hoppers are parked? Can ine get them in N-scale?
