As an American it always cracks me up when I hear people of other nationalities lampoon American speech. Is that really what we sound like to them? Lol
Because most movies and tv shoes are made with American actors, we don't really notice American accents too much in the media (unless its like a southern accent). However, in real life, American accents stick out like a sore thumb. Bloody weird.
I wanted to hear a Kiwi say, "fish and chips" to determine for myself if you're saying "fush and chops". You're not; you sound perfectly normal. Glad that's solved, for me.
Love it! Was on a boat in nz when the captain began talking about 'full the dick hund'. (Phil, the deck hand). Brilliant accent and a brilliant nation who are happy to take the piss out of themselves. NZ, never change.
A plaintive NZ middle-ager having her mid-life adventure in China - "But I can't do it!" - when asked to learn "i" in order to avoid pronouncing "big" as "bug". etc. etc. The school did its money since the kids couldn't make head or tail of her English. She came, she said, from the Lund of the All Blucks and looked forward to the Mud Autumn Fustavul". Her mud life adventure in China was short-lived.

Don’t let people make fun of your accent at all in fact, I live in New Zealand and I personally think New Zealand has one of the best accents in the English language.

I can relate mate, I grew up in NZ but have not lived there for about 30 years and even after all these years the odd word still comes out. I have lived in Australia for some 23 years and people sometimes say `is that the trace of a Kiwi accent` ?. really though they dont really care as Im not saying dick when I mean deck and not, did when saying dead, nor fush n chups when saying fish and chips...LoL. Its so obvious when I hear Kiwis over here in Queensland though. Its all good mate....dont worry about it! Its cute!
im just gonna coppy that accent i mimmic accents cuz why not (i enjoy making fun of the french and british) my friend lives in new zealand and i want to confuse her next time were in a vc.
Years ago at my old job I had a customer whom I couldn't really whether she was Australian or Kiwi (not native English speaker - forgive me). I asked if she was from Australia and she said "No, I'm from New Zealand - we're bItter".
And that’s not the worst accent. Whenever I talk online I either get called Irish or someone starts screaming freedom, SCOTLAND FOREVER 🏴 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴and some shit about haggis
Laughed at the Australian accent. I've always thought that Australians have a high tone. If you watch North Short one of the Australian surfers that steals sugar cane has a really high pitched voice. Some of the actors that are Australian in 80s movies have higher pitches. Sorry for any offense I mean it as a compliment/flattery it's cool.
+Adams Videos It's true that to our respective ears, New Zealanders pronounce "deck" like "dick" while Australians pronounce "six" like "sex." Funny thing is, If Aussies were to master Lupin's pronunciation of the Patronus Charm incantation _"Riddikulus"_ from Harry Potter, they'd have *nailed* the pronunciation of both our _"I"_ sounds, AND the extreme hyperbole of how they think we sound in the exact same word!
As an American it always cracks me up when I hear people of other nationalities lampoon American speech. Is that really what we sound like to them? Lol
It really is lol. It sounds normal on TV but in person when Americans and Canadians speak I can't stop smiling and giggling on the inside hahaha
yes
@@juliustetevano6113 yeah for some reason its always less noticeable on tv
Yep.

The South African accent was perfect.
Right. You’d swear he’s lived here for a couple of years
@Undercoverbat95 i don't think so
No. The South African accent was not perfect at all! Unless he was attempting to mimic an Afrikaaner........
Was great! Baie lekker my china

My absolute Kiwi favourite is the double use of 'true, bro' back to back moving from a question to an exclamation - "True, bro?...True, bro!"
The Australian accent had me in tears 😂😂😂😂
As an American, I definitely laughed at the New York accent. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a californian, I laughed cuz it sounds nothing like our accents
I lost it when you basically did the Canadian accent as basically just an American accent but changed about to aboot hahahhahahahahhaha
South African here. I've watched this so many times for the past 2 years. Never ceases to make me laugh😂😂
"i was tearing it like a lion tears through a gazelle in the Serengeti plains, it was a sight to behold" BRA so funny, classic.
