Spider-Man's black and white costume is his armor costume from marvel vs. street fighter. Zero's is from his Dark Armor cheat from the X games, PS1 era that gave him damage boosts and added health. I dont know about X, since I didn't have an SNES growing up, but I think I've seen it before. He gets a color swap from every weapon he gets, so I doubt it's random with him. Gray Hulk is gray hulk... The rest, I dont know about. Anyway, game is looking trash, and I'm deciding not to get the game on console, since it will run better on my PC, and hopefully there will be mods to fix faces and shaders, etc... which this game needs... This game isn't worth buying twice.

Something small that really bothers me is that not only were there a lot more alternate colours in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but a lot of them were also references to other characters and events, whereas in this game most of the colours just feel like colour swaps.

The roster order doesn't make sense. Ryu and Chin-Li are not besides each other, same with Morrigan and Jedah , and they are not even in the opposite direction of their Marvel counterpart. Only Chun and maybe Jedah are like that.
Ok, so honestly yeah, it's a let down that colors are now just shaders. However, I do appreciate some of the colors, like Chun Li having black and red from 3rd Strike and Spider-Man having a black and white suit referencing a comic. So in the end, they tried guys.

I've got to say, I definitely understood why people were complaining at first about this game. Some of the characters looked wonky, and the roster wasn't nearly as big as the previous two games. But despite its shortcomings, the game overall looks like a lot of fun. I can't believe so many people aren't willing to give it a chance. They complain about every possible aspect they can. Geez, sorry it's not as absolutely perfect as you want.

You got some iconic characters for Marvel and Capcom, and some fan-service characters like Jedah. As for the X-Men, blame Disney for that. As for the artstyle, I thoroughly disagree with the whole "It needs a cel-shaded style to look good!" thing. That is ENTIRELY untrue.

If this is supposed to be a starting point then sorry but you need to do better then this. This is mostly veteran playable characters if this is a reboot then you need some new ones to give a new experience, the way they're handling it they're giving you less of a new experience and more of a old one while giving you less characters from previous ones to boot. Also they're allowed to put X-Men in their games. They've done it in other current games like Future Fight and Marvel Heroes Omega. And it appears they could've put them in but didn't because they thought people didn't remember them or something.

Something small that really bothers me is that not only were there a lot more alternate colours in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but a lot of them were also references to other characters and events, whereas in this game most of the colours just feel like colour swaps.
Is the roster really that small? Damn, there was a ton of characters that could have been new or bring some of the old ones.

Fewer characters and even the alternate costumes are just different colors, MvC3 had actually different alternate costumes, like Fantastic 4 Ghost Rider suit, X-Force Wolverine, New Captain America (Bucky), etc.

It's infuriating enough that they wait until the 'deluxe edition' to add Bowser Jr. which already should've been in the game, just like it already should've has battle stages. But you can't even buy that stuff as DLC. You have to buy the whole new system and game just to get it. I'm not buying Switch because of these shenanigans. The roster order doesn't make sense. Ryu and Chin-Li are not besides each other, same with Morrigan and Jedah , and they are not even in the opposite direction of their Marvel counterpart. Only Chun and maybe Jedah are like that.
Ok, so honestly yeah, it's a let down that colors are now just shaders. However, I do appreciate some of the colors, like Chun Li having black and red from 3rd Strike and Spider-Man having a black and white suit referencing a comic. So in the end, they tried guys.

I've got to say, I definitely understood why people were complaining at first about this game. Some of the characters looked wonky, and the roster wasn't nearly as big as the previous two games. But despite its shortcomings, the game overall looks like a lot of fun. I can't believe so many people aren't willing to give it a chance. They complain about every possible aspect they can. Geez, sorry it's not as absolutely perfect as you want.
+Iron Preist Well, they have fixed a lot of issues with some of the characters. Plus, this is technically a reboot game. I'm sure that with Smash, Nintendo would do the same with the roster. You got some iconic characters for Marvel and Capcom, and some fan-service characters like Jedah. As for the X-Men, blame Disney for that. As for the artstyle, I thoroughly disagree with the whole "It needs a cel-shaded style to look good!" thing. That is ENTIRELY untrue.

If this is supposed to be a starting point then sorry but you need to do better then this. This is mostly veteran playable characters if this is a reboot then you need some new ones to give a new experience, the way they're handling it they're giving you less of a new experience and more of a old one while giving you less characters from previous ones to boot. Also they're allowed to put X-Men in their games. They've done it in other current games like Future Fight and Marvel Heroes Omega. And it appears they could've put them in but didn't because they thought people didn't remember them or something.
