Hi, my name is Yann, I follow your channel from France. When I was a young teenager, in the mid-90s, I read custom magazines, while my friends were interested in football, I was dreaming of Ford 33s, Camaros and lead sleds. Thank you for bringing back memories. Yann.
My usual procedure for watching a 'Carter' video... Hit the 'like' button before the vid starts. Allow all ads to play without hitting 'skip'. Read the comments and possibly leave my own.
I have strong hatred for most of the ads. Who the hell wants $50 drone designed by a former nasa engineer in the Australian military? I'd use one of amazing lighters designed for the Australian military by'Simon' whop was special forces veteran of the belarus military etc etc etc on the clown who decided youtube should be like Junk TV. .
I like watching temu ads. In fact when I mixed up my new tube of deodorant with my toothpaste, I ordered new teeth from Herman's discount recycling and got them the next day!
This is how it was truly done by pioneer hotrodders and customizers back in the 30s,40s and 50s. Trial and error. Use what you got. All hail King Kyle!!! Chicken truck rules!!!
I like the look of "Did the factory build it like that?" Kind of like if Chevy had built a 1953 El Camino that was as crazy then as the 1959 was 6 years later. The pieces of the '54 grille are pretty radical in the mock-up and got me thinking. More bolted together and less moulded. 100% agree on staying with all mid-1950's parts. Absolutely great to watch it develop.
I love your emphasis on the word MINE being that it is usually the first word we learn to say after birth. You are so right in saying it also. Looking forward to the build
The farther you're going down the chicken truck hole, the more I'm liking what you're doing. Back in '59 or 60, Pontiac did a Catalina based custom one off version of the Chevy El Camino known as the El Catalina. This reminds me of it.
This is why I watch your show Kyle and I mean show not video you put on a show with your abilities, creativeness and humor. I’m really looking forward to see where this is going to be going you you got some great ideas. Rich from NJ in the USA
The cab and fenders sit great over the front axle, Kyle. And when the rear door skin was held in place not too much squinting was required to see the thing taking shape. Don't forget the immortal words: Do the Funky Chicken now, ahaha."
Hey Kyle, you are one brave character! 😀 On my 64 F100 I had to rebuild the front body supports, the front half of the floors and firewall, the air boxes and the roof line along the drip rail. The box floor was completely gone as well as 3" of the inner bed walls. The tailgate was another mess. half of it ended up in the recycle bin. The original engine and trans were god knows where and no driveshaft. Someone thought they were going to do a Crown Vic front end swap so all the engine and transmission mounts and cross member were gone as well. Other than that it was easy going. I used a 65 Galaxy steering column as I ended up with a 351M engine with a C6 auto . I didn't want a floor shifter so the galaxy column worked and looked good. I had to cut the original steering shaft off at the steering box and weld on a splined end for the "rag" steering joint. After a little fiddling everything worked great. Most people can't tell it not the correct steering column. I left the solid front axle but added a disc brake kit for the front. It uses Chevy Impala calipers on late 70s Ford F150 rotors. Great runner and fun to drive. The body is in it's original 60 year old patina and most people think it's a pure survivor. I call it a " resto mod survivor"! I'm currently working on a 65 F350 and hope to have the cab in paint by July. Thanks for all the help, I've learned a lot!!!
I see you are using that fancy water based lube in your project ... your idea using that frame gets a better suspension and height ... just what is needed ... genius ... lookin cool ...
I like the idea of the flathead. It is looking good, is period correct, not to high and you have it already. Nothing wrong in keeping it without to much tinkering with it. If it wants to die, it can do so without you investing to much effort in it. It will last longer than most people think, I am sure.
The stance that the front end has is starting to look wonderful. The image you have explained for the rear of the truck makes perfect sense. Keep working on this idea. I am here to see you make it happen. I have faith in your abilities. Let the naysayers sit on their couches waiting for Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune at 5 pm.
A 5 cylinder chicken truck! You will be the envy of the world! Just remember that it takes the right ratio of meds to yellow paint when creating a one of a kind.
Hello my name is David. I from Alitalia South of you, Iowa (USA)I found your TH-cam channel and think it is cool. I'm a guy over 60 who appreciates old school ways of doing things. Keep it up
Again, thanks Kyle! I really enjoy your channel, and am eagerly awaiting the chicken truck final reveal. I'm also happy to note Poe is keeping busy, nothing worse than a bored cat. Cheers!
I like everything you’re doing on this build. Period correct is definitely the way to go. The in-line 6 is the greatest engine design ever made, which is why literally everyone from farm tractor manufacturers to Jaguar has made one. Keep going.
I do understand what you're wanting to accomplish and can see this will be a badass looking build when you're done. With that said, a small block chevy would look awesome under the hood if the flat head turns out to be junk.
I should say something mean so I can get on Kyle's next compilation video, but I have to say I really like where this is going! Honestly, you're taking absolute garbage and making something cool from it. Plus, it's fun to watch.
It's always fun to watch. I'm looking forward to your next video. it looks like another advanced design truck under that cover. Guess I'll have to wait and see
This is Literally, the coolest swap I’ve ever seen.. I’m trying to find a 64 impala convertible and then put a whole bunch of period correct Corvette suspension on it absolutely, gonna run a 1964 Rochester fuelie as well 💯
All this lateral thinking and problem solving on the fly, it's fun to watch. Valley Custom references. And plenty of standing back! I've seen so many cars where it looks like that was never done. The central dash pod might actually be better than plan A! The flathead 6 is cool, it would be great with some speed equipment, although there doesn't seem to be much for them. I'm kind of drawn to the idea of an early '50s GM V8- Nailhead with 3 or 6 carbs (every vehicle ever made should have one!), or Cad/Olds? Love where you're going with this.
I agree with you about giving the engine some time to sort itself out. It could be stuck compression ring that may free up from running it for a while. You can also soak the cylinders with deiseal or what ever you choice of rust dissolver for several days.
I am enjoying watching this quirky concept come together ! As a previous owner of cars with both the early Stovebolt 6 and the sidevalve Pontiac 6 , I can say that I found the engines similar in terms of power . The difference is that the Stovebolt produces more initial torque ( 'alacrity?') , but it cannot handle high revs for a long time , whereas the Pontiac is a tough old lump of the sort where you can nail the pedal to the floor and go for it . Possibly down to the different Oiling systems . Road holding and brakes were equally awful .
That stance and subtle chop is really balanced. The obvious answer to the engine compartment clearance issues is a boxer motor. Porsche, Suburau, Corvair, or Ducati. Alternatively, just cut the floorboards out again, and Fred Flinstone it. I hope you find these practical suggestions useful! Seriously though, I like the mix and match of GM-available off-the-shelf period stuff.
The Chevrotiac Chicken Truck build is moving right a long. Remember, when ever you’re feeling depressed, at least seven us out in TH-cam land have faith in you.
That engine seems to be a reasonable option for you. Cylinder 3 will come around as you get a few heat cycles in it. Worst case, you put some rings in it.
That cab fits surprisily well there after the body modifications. I really like where this project is going, but i am not sure about that flathead. It can be a real money pit, if you find any bigger issues of that. If you cant go up with the overhead engine, maybe there is some room to mount it lower an inch or two. Keep up the good work!
Love your direction. Back around 2000 an acquaintance had a rod shop/ body shop. They started a 48 Buick sedan and attempted to make a Harley hauler. But order was canceled.
Good on you for trying to do things period correct. I know from my project how difficult that can be. My 1951 Merc M-1 is a Pain to accomplish but it's how it needs to be....Look forward to the progress.
man your head is in exactly the right place for this project and think you've got great ideas. this will absolutely look outstanding... i'm super into this. i dig the other stuff you're doing and in spite of what some wise guys say you have a respect for the old stuff. pulling the head off the six just for inspection isn't a big job. also, kitties!
When I was a kid a guy local had one of these with short step side and replaced the bed when it rotted out with long fleet side. It was uuuuugggggly! Nice work Kyle. Thank You
The mocked up car now looks wider in the front. I sort of like it! Maybe it will work to accentuate that? Or maybe not, what do I know… just latched on to that idea watching the last minutes of this video. Keep up the good work Kyle! Every upload of yours is a highlight for me.
Kyle. Your build is going to look much better than the two early customs. You have entered the cluster mock up! Hahaha. I can see it though. My gosh. There are going to be tons of videos on all the slits and cuts. I wonder if a SBC water neck has the same bolt pattern for your thermostat cover? Or just cut and weld it Anyway. I’m at the same point with my car project where I need to cut the bracing out and put the exact seat that I want in it before I fit anything in the interior. Ergonomics are so-important. My guess for next weeks video is Nitemare! Smitty
When you placed the rear door skin up against the side of the truck it blended the cab with the rear of the Pontiac and looked pretty good. It sort of looked something like a hybrid between an El Camino and a Cadillac Funeral Flower car. The lines were very pleasing and I can imagine that in the future you will do your best to exploit those lines for a beautiful looking vehicle. I just don't know if you plan to keep the trunk lid and flip the hinges so the trunk becomes a tailgate or if you're simply going to weld the trunk closed? In any event I can sort of see where you're going with this build. Good luck.
Love how the chicken truck is coming together! Appreciate how you explain your process and sequencing of all the modifications to come too. I wonder if when it’s all together and ready for its first drive, you might christen it by backing over a Bissell? Or Hoover, which ever brand… hell, maybe the even Pontiac parts you chopped up just to give it to the internet trolls once more?

You don't have to explain why. we are just here to watch a master do his fabricating magic.
I admire your tenacity
PS. I'm with you on your ideas for both the bed and grafting the Pontiac dash pod! Cheers!
Kyle, you do the work of 3 men, Larry, Moe and Curley!
Hilarious. 😂
🤣🤣🤣👍

In Australia we had 49 - 52 ElCamino's, though they where called Fleetline or Stylemaster's..irony is they where made in Canada
Love your choices for musical accompaniment Kyle! Gives a certain classy feel to the video. And I think that Pontiac frame is gonna work!
I love your emphasis on the word MINE being that it is usually the first word we learn to say after birth. You are so right in saying it also. Looking forward to the build
Good on 'yer Kyle! You certainly don't shy away from a challenge.
The farther you're going down the chicken truck hole, the more I'm liking what you're doing. Back in '59 or 60, Pontiac did a Catalina based custom one off version of the Chevy El Camino known as the El Catalina. This reminds me of it.
I look up the El Catalina. they only made one. Very cool car though.
Thanks for taking us along, Kyle!
This is why I watch your show Kyle and I mean show not video you put on a show with your abilities, creativeness and humor. I’m really looking forward to see where this is going to be going you you got some great ideas.

Thanks Rich!
Chicken Truck = #1 Build on TH-cam!
100% agree.
@@coldwarmotorsHow do you find time to watch other TH-cam videos Scott? You must NEVER sleep. 😆
Liking this project a lot, great work. The Cheviac.
More videos Kyle can wait to see it finished all ready looking good
I think she's starting to really come together ! Very cool.
I like that art deco dash and cluster. 👍
Many mods. Your vision, your methods.. period correct.. thinking outside the🐔 Coupe... Works 4 U.. all that matters. 👍
Man, the hoods looking great. That was a good video
What a genius!
Yeah! Chicken Truck!! Oh and putting that cab on the car frame, very cool. Everything you do is interesting! Thank you Kyle for sharing!!
We love chicken truck action !
Yup !!

I like your idea of using Pontiac dash in the center of the truck cab! Thanks Kyle. 👍😎
Thanks for playing the Chicago song!! 🎶 It's my kind of town! 🎵
Chicken Truck, Chicken Truck !! Don't raise the bridge; lower the river.
Good idea to always change the water in your transmission and engine pan.
Proportions on that truck are looking really dialed.
I can see you’ve got a cool vision for this project.
The flathead inline 6 Pontiac is epic!! Keep it! Love on it!
I didn’t see it coming but I was there when it came. I can rarely get liquids to go IN the pan.
Thank you and thank you again, for sharing this and all "adventures" of yours, Kyle,, ❣🙏❣

This is a cool project
I think that it's going to look grate with that frame just the right hight. love that your keeping it all 50s time frame.
project…On the fly design. Very creative. Thanks for sharing boss-man!
Thanks!
Thank you Chris!

I never noticed that the column is off center from the gauges in those trucks. Now I'll never be able to not see it, so thanks for that!
Haha you're welcome!

You're building a legend.
love it you have been doing alot of work that is coming out awsome thank you
Your videos keep me motivated on my project, can't wait to see more progress on the truck!
That’s what I’m thinking. Stuck ring or a valve needs staking. Can’t be too major as none of the others are weak. Will be interesting to see.
That cab fits surprisily well there after the body modifications. I really like where this project is going, but i am not sure about that flathead. you will make it work i know love it
I just hate it when the drip pan spills. Makes one think why did I try not to make a mess. 😅
Definitely looking Awesome Kyle

Nice work Kyle. Thank You
Great video as always great music ,also love your concept and idea, also comic delivery is fantastic, love your work .
Thar looks so awesome so far great work Kyle. With you all the way. God bless
It’s a big fork truck under the tarp . Thanks Kyle
Yay chicken truck

Great progress. this is coming out sooooo... nice. Kyle keep it going.
Kyle. Your build is going to look much better than the two early customs.

Está picape vai ficar top dás galáxia ótimo trabalho parabéns felicidades 😮😮
Love this project!! I would put fresh oil in it with marvel mystery oil and let it run through some cold to hot heat cycles
Great job.
Its looking like a truck again 🤣. Keep at it Kyle she will be a cool ride .
Love how the chicken truck is coming together! Appreciate how you explain your process and sequencing of all the modifications to come too.

You know it's gonna be a good video when Kyle starts out the video with a hand puppet lol. Fabrication, and entertainment, i like it. G-d bless.
Beautiful, I have cut up old rusty junkers in hopes that I might cobble something together as well, keep at it !!
Deffo a full race Chicken Truck! Oh doo dah day…..
