I have recommended this many times to music reactors but still no one thats reacting to this performance.. its a shame cause in my opinion this was her best performance of this concert..
The only "difference" I hear betw these two Divas is their pronunciation of "it" in the phrase, "You're still my man and nothing can change it". Whitney really landed on the T in "it" each time while Glennis is subtle. Even in her cover of "Run To You", in the phrase, "I want you to hold me in your arms & keep me safe from harm" ... The only difference I heard was Whitney landed HARD on the "d" in "hold" every time, pronouncing it like it was important while Glennis is subtle on that "d". Other than that, it's a tough call. They're both magnificent!

So from her IYBT album on there was no time to sing many songs from the first two albums. Someday (a) live version(s) of YSMM will be on the net and prove how silly and ignorant these comments suggesting Whitney couldn't sing it live really are! Oh, 2 more things! *Many songs on Whitney's albums are first takes. Unlike many other singers then and certainly now, Whitney didn't sing every word a 100 times before it was good enough to be on the album. So Whitney could and did sing all her songs live just as good and even better than the album versions. *Whitney sang her songs not exactly the same as on her albums because she couldn't!! Whitney sang them differently because she: - wanted people to hear her true musical background of Gospel, Soul, R&B a.o. - wanted to keep concerts interesting for her fans, musicians and herself. If an artist always sings songs exactly like the album versions, it would be very boring and the artist would be called boring by concert critics too. - wanted to connect with her fans. Example: Whitney sang in African style at her South Africa concerts.
She did, 1988, Madison Square Garden, for example. If you cannot find something on TH-cam doesn't mean it doesn't exist. ;-) Whitney was unique in all her doings. There are a lot of really good copies of her out there, but the word says it all - it's just copies.

Damn. I think this performance along with "Home" and perhaps "All At Once" amongst a couple of others, its just the best. This song is one Whitney herself didn't even attempt live as far as I'm aware. It literally sounded like her in so many parts especially the climax I kept rewinding 😂 absolutely incredible and if she herself had heard this voice before her untimely passing, she would've been so proud and buzzing. 👏🏼

Whitney performed this live and according to accounts of those who saw the show, she even sang higher riffs and runs than what's on the studio version. It's sad that there are seemingly no recordings of it.

The reasons why Whitney didn't sing it at all her concerts like she did with GLOA (which she still sang in 2010) are:
-it wasn't released as a single.
-it wasn't as popular with the majority of her fans like GLOA, IWDWS(WLM), HWIK and many others are.
-Whitney liked most of her other songs more.
-You can't sing all songs at every concert.
-You have to sing the hit songs everybody wants to hear. So from her IYBT album on there was no time to sing many songs from the first two albums.
Someday (a) live version(s) of YSMM will be on the net and prove how silly and ignorant these comments suggesting Whitney couldn't sing it live really are!

*Many songs on Whitney's albums are first takes.
Unlike many other singers then and certainly now, Whitney didn't sing every word a 100 times before it was good enough to be on the album. So Whitney could and did sing all her songs live just as good and even better than the album versions.
*Whitney sang her songs not exactly the same as on her albums because she couldn't!! Whitney sang them differently because she:
- wanted people to hear her true musical background of Gospel, Soul, R&B a.o.
- wanted to keep concerts interesting for her fans, musicians and herself. If an artist always sings songs exactly like the album versions, it would be very boring and the artist would be called boring by concert critics too.
- wanted to connect with her fans. Example: Whitney sang in African style at her South Africa concerts.
She did, 1988, Madison Square Garden, for example. If you cannot find something on TH-cam doesn't mean it doesn't exist. ;-) Whitney was unique in all her doings. There are a lot of really good copies of her out there, but the word says it all - it's just copies.

Damn. I think this performance along with "Home" and perhaps "All At Once" amongst a couple of others, its just the best. This song is one Whitney herself didn't even attempt live as far as I'm aware. It literally sounded like her in so many parts especially the climax I kept rewinding 😂 absolutely incredible and if she herself had heard this voice before her untimely passing, she would've been so proud and buzzing. 👏🏼
She did sing this song because she did have luck with man. That's why. She was a great but very unhappy.
I kinda disagree with "didn't attempt" this song was just a jem from that album never a single or promoted. Whitney could have most definitely blew this song out of the stratosphere. I would have loved to have heard it live even just once💞💞
