It was great having you onboard Tony. Loved that we finally got to meet. Thanks again for having me on the channel, and this interview was so much fun!
Chris, I was just telling Tony, I’m so glad I saw this video! I’ll be on Odyssey this weekend! Im going to try to come find you! The casino is my fav part of any cruise!
We have been in a couple of FREE cruises by invitation from the casino. You still have to pay port fees, taxes, tips, and any extras on the ship. This is a great perk.😊😊
I spent $100 at the slots for the first time on Carnival Breeze in Sept 2021. I received an offer for a $25 dollar balcony/ocean view cruise about a month later!!!! Super excited!
Mad respect for posting the gambling anonymous number. I do not go to the casinos on land or water. However now that I know they have free play I'll definitely be visiting the casino on Dec 6th. Lol
Im totally a casino gal. I have had several “free” cruises in balcony and suites. I must say, in my case they are not “free” but my casino “deposits” keep me cruising. Ha. I love the casino benefits. Every cruise I end up getting a comped specialty dinner from casino. I do play a lot but love it. I’m on west coast. I have never cruised Royal Caribbean but have done 18 cruises on other lines and have three free cruises booked for next year compliments of casino programs. Interesting interview.
@@onjekaji5832 If you enjoy playing in the casino then it may be worth it. Just remember, it isn't winning or losing. It is how much you play. Yes, the odds are heavily in favor of the house. but, you do have a shot at winning. Depends on what game or games you play.
Average gambling losses will far outweigh the value of any comps won. Slots are particularly bad. For every $1000 you gamble you are going to lose about $200. Mugs use the comps to justify their addiction to friends. They won't tell you about the $200 they lost, only about the $20 free meal comp they got.
My wife and I watch all of Chris's postings. Wish he would do more posts but we know his number one priority his job with Royal Caribbean. Thanks Tony for posting Chris and helping him promote his channel.
Chris sounds great. I am a big slot machine lover. I think Carnival also has a great casino reward program. HOWEVER, on my recent Majestic Princess october cruise (which had been a Casino offer) I was VERY disappointed in the casino. By the end of day two I had 3,500 points. I had not bought a drink package but had always been offered a drink while playing on Carnival. I asked one of the servers if I could have a bottled water. Nope, Not for free. I never saw a Casino host and even had trouble getting my on board Casino credit. I did get wine and chocolate covered cherries delivered to the room. And on the last day an offer for $650 in Casino play, in a future cruise, signed by a casino host I NEVER saw. I know I never saw the host because the letter was signed by a woman. Maybe I need to switch over to RC on the Navigator! (I only sail from California). Thank you Tony and Chris. Great info.
Hey hey hey 👋🏽 it was awesome to cruise with you last week ! We had a blast playing in the Casino ! Chris was fantastic and I became VIP and earned a free cruise with an upgrade to a junior suite 🤩
I have found that if you're nice and not demanding, it gets noticed in a positive way...I treat the casino as excursions and budget so much each day. I havent paid full price or for drinks in several years.
Wonderful video, Tony! I currently have 8 free casino cruises booked with RC. I'm happy with maintaining Casino Royale Prime. The perks of free cruises and cocktails are what I appreciate.
Sometimes we win in the casino, sometimes we lose, and sometimes we break even. But we never lose even close to what a cruise would have cost us anyway, and we have taken 32 comped cruises (all in balconies or junior suites) and have another 13 currently booked. Casino Royale is extremely generous with comp offers. I would never tell someone to become a gambler just for comps, but if you are going to gamble somewhere anyway, then a cruise ship is a wonderful place to gamble.
There are a few people on TH-cam that gamble just for the comps. They have the same mentality as you. Never lose what the cruise would have cost. They way they look at it, if they lose 4-5 hundred bucks but they get 3 free cruises out of it, it’s worth it!!! The comps on cruises are much better than land based casinos. You can be a high roller on a casino cruise but a very small fish in Vegas
I live in Las Vegas & worked at Caesar’s Palace … so gambling does not interest me BUT Love watching people playing & listening to their conversations . Lol.. .. your conversation with Chris was very informative . Thx you !!!
Very comprehensive. What I learned on my last cruise was how payouts were lower. A blackjack paid 6/5 versus 3/2. Standard video poker pays 2/1 for 2 pair, but on the cruise it paid 1/1. But the loyalty program helps make the lower odds make sense. Mr. Wong really gave me a better understanding, which I appreciate.
Changing to BJ payout to 6/5 adds 1.39% to the casino edge and it looks like the points give 1% back. Still not a terrible deal as far as casinos go. Edit: No, they have separate casino rewards. Looking at them now and still no clue what they're worth. What on earth is a "complimentary interior stateroom on one cruise" "based on double occupancy"? You still pay for one person? Edit2: It's five dollars a point on slot machines and something unspecified based on a guesstimate of dollars wagered on tables. Edit3: Comments on the Internet say table games give roughly a tenth of what you get on slots, with some saying it's just part of your buy-in rather than what you've played.
I am not casino gambler. I would love to try my winning hand one day. I have good friends who gamble on the ship's casino all the time and tell how they win a free cruise. Now, here is my Wow moment! I didn't know everyone has a free play for the 1st two days! Now that is one amazing tidbit! Thank you Tony and Chris Wong!
Thank you Tony for posting this. I didn’t know they had free play on one of the first two days. I will definitely go to the casino to use it and more 🙈 . My husband gets good casino discount by giving my membership number. And thanks to Chris Wong for giving us to inside scoop!!!
My last cruise was on Allure in Dec 2019. Chris is so right. Always check in with Casino host. I always get with them first night to see how the machines did previous cruise. My Casino host helped me a lot in how to play slot machines. I ended up winning $22,000 the first 2 days of the second week of my cruise. First jackpots I had ever hit. Love the casino. I’ll try my luck again in 21 days on Oasis of the Seas. Another B2B and chance to win.
I find it difficult to separate my money from my pocket, not that I haven’t tried just haven’t found it an experience I feel I need to repeat enough to earn loyalty points/rewards. I would try the free play now that I know about it.
Hi Tony. Thank you for going outside the "box" and inviting a Casino Host for a very informative interview. Please consider doing the same with Carnival. Thank you.
That free play is a great nugget. I do not remember ever checking and we play the casino almost every night. We will give this a try on our May cruises on Allure. Thanks Tony for all the info.
Gambling and casinos don't interest me but I'm very happy for everyone to flock to the casino while I take a swim! It would be about the only time I'd be able to find some space in the pool!
IMHO one of your most informative videos and I NEVER gamble. Chris was well spoken and you did a great job with the interview. Knowing there is free play I would be tempted to go in just for fun. Really respect that you added the 800 number for those who might need. I would be interested in more interviews like this with other crew members.
WOW! Free Play!!! I've been missing out. I'll definitely be going to the casino on day 1 on our cruise in Feb 2022. Thanks to you and Chris Wong for sharing this info.
I am going on my “free” Club Royale cruise on the Mariner in March. Five nights in an interior cabin set us back $370. That was for taxes, fees, and gratuities. We’re pleased with that deal. Might throw in a few more bucks to upgrade our cabin, should it be reasonable. Thanks for the great content, Tony.
@@jbrow8016 me personally, not much. My wife on the other hand 🤪🤪🤪 Our thought process is $100 each daily during our cruises so not an exorbitant amount. Not sure how RC does the math to determine how much spent equates to a comped interior room.
We absolutely love the Casino Never thought really about meeting the Host. We were always told they come to you. Well glad to know this. THANKS TONY. and Mr. R.C. HOST HONG
Yup, cruise casino comps are real just like land based casinos, the more you play the better those comps are. For newbies the casino host and his/her staff will help you with any questions you may have.
For the first time ever, I was given $100 casino money on our next cruise. I usually do my own bookings and I thought I would try a PVP (Princess Vacation Planner). Not only did we get a good discount and pricing for our next cruise but the casino credit was a surprise. I do play on sea days and have never met the casino host. Now I get to ask how to redeem this credit on our first sea day. Thanks for sharing!!
I love Club Royale! Last time I paid cruise fare was 2016. I have 3 cruises booked right now, through March ‘22. Was on Odyssey in August, and didn’t play as much as usual but, still earned enough points for future cruises and to keep my prime status. Love their program!
Tony we met you playing craps on the Celebrity Edge… at least once a year we’ll have a free cruise because of our casino play… this year it’s on the Christmas cruise on Holland America… and meeting the casino host is a must..! On a longer cruise within a few days all of our drinks were comped, the host would check on us at least once if not several times during the evening to make sure we had everything we needed…
I get my cruises comped from NCL casinos at Sea! I gamble though! I pay the taxes and whatever fees ! I’ve cruised for only 500 for two in a balcony, a suite and once I upgraded for 200pp in the owners suite! Haven’t done this though since the pandemic! I’m ready!!!
Total test the fates kind of gal. We are not high rollers at all, but manage to play enough to get offers on future cruises and sometimes free drinks. I love the social interaction at the tables and a big personality dealer to make it fun.
Thanks - this was very helpful. I did not know about the free play on Royal and I’ve cruised with them several times. I have been somewhat intimidated by the casino, but watched some videos on how to play the slot machines before my last cruise. They helped me understand the difference between max lines, max bet, etc. Like your comment about not spending more than you can afford to lose, the key takeaway from one video was: “Treat the money you spend in a casino as entertainment money. Like paying for tickets to a game or concert where you are buying an experience. If you win in the casino, consider it a nice bonus.” And thank you for providing the number for help with gambling addiction. What may be harmless entertainment for one can be a serious problem for someone else.
Respect to you Tony for your mention of/speaking about gambling addiction. It is certainly very real and has ruined many individuals and families. Kudos for putting up the 800 line to call and ask for help. That just might help out one or more of your own viewers. ✌️👍
Thanks for taking the mystery out of this for many people. My husband and I have had so many offers (and taking 6 this year) and only pay taxes and fees. We only gamble on cruise ships now- best rewards. 🤩
Thanks for the free play tip! We have a family trip planned next year on the Harmony so we’re all excited to give it a try. We always use our CAS free play but we weren’t aware of the other. 😃
just came across your video…thx for the info…we’re headed to our very first cruise aboard the Navigator of the Seas in Dec 2022….we’ll be sure to go visit the casino host…take care !!
My sister gets offers every week for free/ cheap cruises from RCL. Even a balcony and free drinks in the casino. And she generally plays with a thousand bucks over the trip. For her it's entertainment. I spend my extra money on the liquor package. To each his own.
I have never been in a casino. We were thinking about it for our Christmas cruise. I am glad to know about the free play. We'll be sure to stop in and use it. Our first 2 days are at sea, so we'll have plenty of time.
I'm very new to gambling! My girlfriend and I have received or scheduled 3 free cruises now, just from gambling slots on our first paid for cruise. We don't spend a lot gambling, but so far we have an Eastern Caribbean cruise, a southern Caribbean cruise and a VERY sweet Alaskan cruise. This is the best way to relax and have fun and you can win both in the casino and with free cruises.
We love Chris and he's the reason we starting watching your videos. We got our next cruise from the casino. Headed into a Junior Suite in March for Free.
I wish you would have asked about how the point system works for table games like Craps, Roulette and Jackjack. But thanks for the info, on my next cruise I will talk to the host for sure! I had no idea about all of this.
The problem I've always heard is that the cruise ship casinos aren't regulated at sea, so the machines don't pay that well, especially after the first day or two.
We used my key card on our last cruise while playing roulette and was just offered $25 balcony . So of course we booked for February. Our anniversary. 4 days /balcony for 2 people with gratuities included and it was only 359 after taxes 🥰🥰 can’t wait 98 days ..
I follow Chris and enjoyed his vlogs during the pandemic! I'm not a big gambler but the big deterrent is the smoking. I don't even like having to walk through the casino to get to other parts of the ship. I try to fin alternate routes so that I don't wind up breathing it and reeking of smoke. I wonder if other cruise lines have the free play to entice people?!!! Need to look into that!
Celebrity has a casino and there is absolutely no smoking. Not ever! They also, like most cruise lines, has a casino loyalty program. We took a two week cruise on Princess and smoking was allow at certain times in the casino. It smelled so badly that I couldn’t even stay there during the nonsmoking times.
Thanks Tony for the great info. I live in Reno Nv and are very familiar with Casino Host. Never knew cruise ships have them. I gamble on ever cruise I have been on and have never been offer any casino perks. So I really learned a lot from your video. I will definitely be contacting a casino host on my next cruise. Keep up the great work ❤️❤️❤️
Tony what a great video. I am 65 and have never gambled in my life. I was on Celebrity this past August in Europe and played roulette and won $700 over a number of sessions. I always tipped the dealer and on the last day tipped pit boss and cage lady and everyone else I could find. I am scheduled for another Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruise in December (back to back Christmas Cruises) and appreciate your insights and information. I will immediately seek out the Casino Host as I plan to play again.
I prefer Princess cruises and I wonder if you know the info for that cruise line? Just a quick story: my last Caribbean cruise I played craps each night. I preplanned with my spending cash for $200.00/per day (or night) if I wanted to play but held back on excursions instead. I won each night between $200.00-$450.00. I would cash out, go one deck up to the pursers desk and pay off any expenses I accrued like drinks, excursions on no casino days etc. when I got my end of cruise room statement in what I owed, I had a zero balance owing and in fact went home with about half of my spending money I brought with me. Some would say I still spent half of my spending cash for my cruise. I say I fully paid for essentially anything I wanted while on my cruise . And still managed to come home with half my money I went with. (I do that when I go to Vegas with my brother).
Hi Tony. My spoise and I both received RCL Casino offers. Spouse was offered a free interior or ocean view room. My offer was $100 off. We called Casino Royale and we combined the offers and received a comped balcony room. We are both low rolling slot players. However I do love the dice on the occasion. " Horn High Yo and a Yo for the dealers" on every come out role. Happy Cruising!
Wow! I didn’t know there was free play…I will check it out when we go in Feb! Thanks for this video, very interesting! And we do get free cruises and we do take advantage of them!
We use the Casino like going to the Movies , a couple hours just for Entertainment , a few Cock Tails and on to one of the Bars with a Band ....We had Lived 1 hour from Atlantic City and learned ODDS are not in Our FAVOR ... SO JUST ENJOY !! And CRUISE ON ...
We took a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas on the last cruise out of New Jersey in October. Spent most nights in the Casino. Roulette is my thing. Learned a lot from your conversation with Chris. Thank you so much
My Wifey & I are all booked on Allure on my free cruise balcony suite may 8th..2022 paid 226.00 total for 6 NTs also have free wifi an couple other perks....... looking forward to it...
We hadn’t sailed Carnival in 6 years and will be on our 3 free cruise this year, have 4 booked in 22 from Dover, and 2 booked in 23 from Sydney. Each has between $200 - $550 free play and free drinks. Don’t be intimidated, but don’t go in debt to get the freebies! Know when to walk away. My DW loses a reasonable amount for how much she runs through the slots. I enjoy the free drinks and watch her play.
Hi Tony San Diego here again. We’ve been on 36+ cruises so far and I am proud to say we have never donated one penny or more to any Cruise Lines casinos ! I don’t believe in them… I’d rather save my money and test the fate on going on another cruise 🚢..lol to each his own!
People think these are free cruises but you pay for them by gambling so they are not free unless you plan on spending all that money in a casino anyways.
Awesome information. Thank you. I will be on Royal for the 1st time in less than 2 weeks and will definitely be hitting up the casino within the 1st 2 days.
I’ve always been intimidated about the casino. I passed by several times, stop for a moment and look who’s what and where. There were a few times when a staff at the casino kinda eye- balling me, but I just leave after that. I know how to play B/J and play a lot too. The slot machine were my thang even when I was in Vegas and Reno. I will try and gamble on my next cruise.
This loyalty program is so real! I have been awarded in three months with 15 cruises 🚢 including Wonder of the Seas and I’m a PRIME. Most of them are balcony and ocean view staterooms and for some of them I got up to $200 FREEPLAY 😌💪. I have already booked 9 cruises in 4 months😃
Apparently if you gamble at Los Vagas on the MGM machines they will add your points to the Royale Casina loyalty programme and this will get you up the Crown and Anchor level more quickly on the level up programme.
Best Casino advice ever was from National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation. Wallace Shawn said to Chevy Chase. "How about you give me half the money you were going to bet. We go outside and I kick you in the nuts and then call it a day". Seriously, you will be better off. Especially on Cruise ships because the odds are markedly worse than what you will find in Vegas, Atlantic City or anywhere else in North America. That is because the cruise ships are not subject to US or other gaming regulations.
Really enjoyed this episode. Been a big fan of Chris since before the shutdown. He actually led me to you, Tony. Thanks for the really informative interview. The two of you rock and are my fav cruise vloggers... well along with Emma of course.
Every cruise I’ve been on in the last 5-6 years have been comped cruises through the casino Royale program as well as other cruise lines casino programs just paying taxes and fees for my stateroom. It’s a great benefit for those that love cruising and plan to gamble anyway. My wife and I take $2500 each to gamble with and usually end up coming home with funds. Not a bad option. Nice video Tony. A lot of people out there don’t know about this. Thanks for the video.👍🛳🌴
I did not know about the free play(slots) on RCL Key Card. I will have to ask the Casino Host on my other cruise lines if they have free play too. Great nugget, Thank You Tony !!
I always meet the casino host prior to my play. I get free cruise offers in the mail and when I’m on the ship. I wish I had the time and money to cruise and gamble that often. Looking forward to meeting Chris on Ovation in August.
Thank you Tony, I haven’t paid for a cruise including 10 nights for a Fall Cruise and 16 nights back to back MIA to LAX and back. Paid only taxes and it doesn’t take much. But, not all casino hosts are as accessible as Chris. Some hide, some are rarely in the casino except for raffles or drawings. Just have fun, play what you can afford. I only play the amount I would have spent on the cruise. Who needs a drink package when you can get free drinks in the casino at Prime level with Casino Royal and a free cruise each year!. If you and a spouse or friend both play and you are both at prime level you put your free cruise together and get a better cabin. It’s not for everybody and there are times when you will lose miserably, but if you’re careful, don’t bet the mortgage you can have some fun and keep cruising.
I will be sailing RC in August for only the 3rd time. I'm definitely going find the casino host and pick his brain. I love to gambling on cruises. Thank you for the tips. You rock.
Thanks Tony this was a helpful video especially for someone like me that has never gambled on a ship. Hanging out in the casino is on our to do list on our April Cruise.
My husband and I work in a casino so we choose not to spend our vacation time in one. We do like to walk through just to see how other casinos do things differently but that's about it.
Just booked a free balcony offer on Oasis in March, after losing lots of bank on Symphony in October. We probably could have bought 3 cruises with what we lost, but at least we had fun doing it!

Awesome!! Enjoy!
How much did you spend in the casino to get that ?
@@jbrow8016 me personally, not much. My wife on the other hand 🤪🤪🤪 Our thought process is $100 each daily during our cruises so not an exorbitant amount. Not sure how RC does the math to determine how much spent equates to a comped interior room.
We absolutely love the Casino
Never thought really about meeting the Host.
We are primers 😃💪! Being a prime gave me 15 cruise offers for free and also free plays 😁
How much are you gambling with every time you cruise
Tony we met you playing craps on the Celebrity Edge… at least once a year we’ll have a free cruise because of our casino play… this year it’s on the Christmas cruise on Holland America… and meeting the casino host is a must..! On a longer cruise within a few days all of our drinks were comped, the host would check on us at least once if not several times during the evening to make sure we had everything we needed…
I LOVE Royale Casino! They are the nicest folks. We have received a free cruise and my sister has seven free cruises, so far.
I've been on 3 free cruises with RCCL. I'm ready to belly up to the craps table again!!
We’re doing a 16 day Panama cruise in February on the Norwegian Bliss, thanks to the casino.😱👍
Thanks Tony! Your passion for cruise vlogging is incredibly helpful. Thank you for what you do. Hope you and your wife have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
If you win in the casino, consider it a nice bonus.”
And thank you for providing the number for help with gambling addiction.
I was a casino host on land. It was a great job because I made people happy most of the time!
I learned from your vid, to meet the casino host on every cruise from now on. Thanks both of you. I watch Chris too!
Nice job about the addiction hotline Tony. Seriously that's awesome.
Thanks for taking the mystery out of this for many people. My husband and I have had so many offers (and taking 6 this year) and only pay taxes and fees. We only gamble on cruise ships now- best rewards. 🤩
At $5 per point, you need to bet $2000 to be eligible for rewards.
This looks like the makings of an awesome podcast... I can hardly wait for it to come out!!!
Every cruise I've taken after my second cruise has been a free casino cruise 🙌😂
Not a lot, is that $50 - $100 ish?
We love Chris and he's the reason we starting watching your videos. We got our next cruise from the casino. Headed into a Junior Suite in March for Free.
I wish you would have asked about how the point system works for table games like Craps, Roulette and Jackjack. But thanks for the info, on my next cruise I will talk to the host for sure! I had no idea about all of this.
The problem I've always heard is that the cruise ship casinos aren't regulated at sea, so the machines don't pay that well, especially after the first day or two.
He said that you start getting perks at 400 points.. So a 1 point per 5 dollars put in the slot that's 2 grand put in the slots. No thanks
I won a cruise and a $250 freeplay on my next cruise. First time I won anything. I used my winnings to keep playing.
How much did you spend
@@Makewomensaneagain approx $1000
Cruised many times open Royal, never knew about the free play on the first two days. Will definitely seek out the casino Host next cruise.
Keep up the great work ❤️❤️❤️
I'm not a gambler either BUT I liked the information you gave other people about the Casino/slot machines.
I’m going on my 3rd free cruise next week from Royal. Only had to pay port fees and taxes totaling $158
How much is customary to tip?
Great to watch Chris Wong. I don't gamble anywhere. Hate to lose!
Oh wow I didn’t know that it’s good to know that’s Tony for the update
We use the Casino like going to the Movies , a couple hours
just for Entertainment , a few Cock Tails and on to one of the
Bars with a Band ....We had Lived 1 hour from Atlantic City
and learned ODDS are not in Our FAVOR ... SO JUST ENJOY !!
And CRUISE ON ...
We took a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas on the last cruise out of New Jersey in October. Spent most nights in the Casino. Roulette is my thing. Learned a lot from your conversation with Chris. Thank you so much
Loved your visit with Chris.
He's always the best. Honest and true!

Oh my!! I never knew I have free play on my card at the casino on the the 1st two days. Definitely will be heading there to retrieve it.
My Wifey & I are all booked on Allure on my free cruise balcony suite may 8th..2022 paid 226.00 total for 6 NTs also have free wifi an couple other perks....... looking forward to it...
I have watch Chris right from his quarantine .... he has such a wonderful person... I'll remember Chris your socks lol..
I will try and gamble
on my next cruise.
What I have gotten out of this is tough have to spend thousands in the casino to be recognized. Hopefully, I'll never get that carried away!
My friend and I are going on a deeply discounted spa balcony room cruise from Carnival Cruise. She earned it through the Casino.
Biggest Nugget---Free Play! Wow. Great interview Tony!
I’m loyal to Royal partly due to the casino program. Pretty much all I book anymore are casino comps.
How much are you playing to get those comps? slots? tables? I like BJ, but am concerned I'd be losing thousands to get comps!
Really enjoyed this episode. Been a big fan of Chris since before the shutdown. He actually led me to you,
Tony.
We are going on 3 free cruises this year thanks to my husband 2 on celebrity 1 on carnival now we know why thanks 😊
Tony what a great idea for a video maybe u can interview a host for carnival since all ships are different
