Hey Andrew, thanks for bringing us along for another wonderful walk in the woods! Those clearings you walked through, those are “balds” you’ve seen on the signs. They’re on the tops of mountains and have no trees, so they’re bald (like the top of my head!).

Nice hike brother, did this section a year ago, you passed the view at siler bald, but i doubt it would have been much of a view with the clouds. The fire tower and wayah bald are incredible views Love the videos!

I see you are hitting patches of snow here and there.....but here in Tennessee is frozen over. You might want hunker down for a while. You are going to hit hard winter further north I think. Definitely going to need warmer clothes.
Wayah is probably my favorite view in NC/TN. It has so much texture and character. It is certainly worth going back to visit on a clear day (drive up to the top if you don't want to hike it again).

Those orange leaves are probably beech tree leaves. They stay on the trees long after most other deciduous tree leaves have fallen. I’m really enjoying your posts. Thank you so much.
I realize I’m a little behind but here are my trail name suggestions: “Fast Forward” - you always speed the video up and also it’s a good play in the words because you’re making killer miles and heading forward! The other one has been mentioned already: “Not Today.” I’m enjoying your enthusiasm and positivity; although I’d prefer not to hear the profanity but hey, I’m an old southern woman. Lol. When you got to Siler Bald at 9:40 and there was a trail to the left, you said ‘wonder what’s over there?’ That was the short side-trail to the top of Siler Bald, good views on a clear day and you can see Wayah Bald, but you made the right move to bypass it in the rain
"Not Today" has my vote. It's gotta be!!! Sorry you didn't have the views off of Siler and Wayah Balds. There good ones but it looked like things were clearing a little for you at the shelter at least!

I think Not Today should be your trail name. It is very suitable for your reference to mother nature but also much more when you may be contemplating maybe a possible injury or following the wrong route or feeling tired or feeling lonely, anything that may be troublesome - your trail name will take you through it.
