It's awesome at 4:55 when the marlin unfolds it's pec fins. Maybe this is where aeronautics engineers got the idea for the moving wings on certain fighter jets. It's the same idea, really. The marlin pulls it's fins in when it needs to speed, and spreads them out when it needs to slow up and maneuver a bit. Humans have been copying nature when designing things for a long time, I guess.
Awesome. The tuna were amazing. And the majestic marlin that powerfully glides in and then unveils the broad pectoral fins needed for attack formation! He showcases multiple attack techniques with direct bites and also an accurate spearing of a fish at 5:12!
Awesome video - I can't wait to try this! So cool to see the tunas and the whitey all lit up in their action colors. I have a buddy that mates in Orange Beach that's got his Go Pro mounted on his pole gaff - awesome shots from that too.
Awsome! It is fascinating to watch the fish hunt for the bait. Great idea to mount the cam to the dredge. Maybe you could try using 960p for wider angle or 720p 60 frames/s so that the slow-motion part is smooth
Incredible footage, was really cool the way white hit the dredge then peeled off looking for stunned fish. What did you use? Would love to replicate setup. Keep them coming
Hahaha! That marlin must be thinking "WTF man I keep whacking but they keep swimming!" lol Wonder if the captain knew they were getting hits and should've slowed down the boat for the strike but just decided to keep going anyways?
How did you rig the go pro? Ive been thinking that a 2 litre cola bottle mounted in the dredge with some wire might work.. but also have seen some trolling contraptions. I also fish out of Sunset marina in OCMD - want to get this go pro working in 2012.. great footage captain!
Very nice! Good idea. Although, next time try shooting in 720p at 60 fps. It's a lower resolution, but GoPro shoots in a wider angle and the slow motion is smoother ;)
Looks like s troll pro or something of that nature. Its amazing how many fish pass up the top water lures. Some times I think my sonar is playing tricks on me when I'm marking fish and can't get a bite guess that's not the case.
stripped marlin and white marlin are the same same, they fight the same and eat the same. they just live in different parts of the world, like the "blue fish" which where im from is called a chopper tailor.
How's it going, I'm coming out with a dredge with a built in gopro mount in the begining of July. Keep an eye on here in the next week or two for video ad called PelagicView dredges. As far as the battery I get about 4 to 4 and 1/2 hours on 1080 30fps or 720 60fps with the extra battery
ive just moved to krabi in Thailand, what type of marlin are here, white, blue, black or pink with yellow spots on,ive asked the thai's and they dont know, they say a marlin is a marlin,oh by the way its the Andoman sea,cheers...................................
Great video and it shows just how theses predators attack fast moving targets. I don't know how many knots you were doing but when you slowed down the tuna lost interest. Every day is a school day . The temptation to slow down once you see fish chasing your lure is always there but not the right thin to do. Don't the fish swim so effortlessly at speed. Great video thanks
Wtf.. that was really damn cool. You got more video for it? eg.. Giant Shark, Jaws, Giant Squid chasing your GoPro inside sea! Can you make more video... Billion of viewer.
Nice idea GoPro underwater Tuna eating video footage. Copy & paste this on TH-cam: Tuna & a white marlin attacking the dredge on the PUMPIN HARD. Does any1 has that real life Tuna eating scene.
Idiots, stop telling the guy that he's filmed a striped marlin - that is an Indian and Pacific ocean billfish. That is a white malin, which is an Atlantic/Gulf/Med billfish.
Just to let you know this 100% real, if you want to see how we get the video you can come and charter the Pumpin Hard out of OC, MD and I'll show how we do it. Also you might want to learn how to tell if a video is fake or not before you post something is fake.
Marlin use their bills , not as a weapon, but to disrupt the water flow behind the fish, making the fish drop back. Once they tap the fish, or simply disrupt the water flow behind the fish, the marlin or billfish will actually eat. This is where a fisherman would drop back or slide a baited mackerel to the marlin. A smart Marlin fisherman would essentially drop back the baited mackerel at that point and the Marlin will eat it. This is where the term "bait and switch" comes from, Marlin fishing . We hooked a 650 pound swordfish here in albacore tuna water, merely using this technique on one of our larger 50 wides, by simply allowing the fish to come up to our lure, bat at it with the "sword" then simply fed the lure back just a couple of feet and BAM! Fish on. This made local news, because bill fish, swords, yellowfin, etc do not normally come into this water we have. Most people here catch king salmon, halibut, rockfish, etc here with the yearly albacore. Don't normally see swordfish, Marlin, yellowfin tuna, yellowtail or dorado on the California coastline up here. Good video. Cheers!

Unreal video, them tuna came up on the bait like a gang out of mad max, thanks for posting

Holy smokes your famous now but you commented in this video 8 yrs ago before you were popular that’s crazy
Awesome video - I can't wait to try this! So cool to see the tunas and the whitey all lit up in their action colors. I have a buddy that mates in Orange Beach that's got his Go Pro mounted on his pole gaff - awesome shots from that too.
how does someone possibley dislike this video. great video
looks like the boat is trying to ditch the fish!
AMAZING! I could watch this all day! It's mesmerizing - like some crazy addictive video game! Great job!
Beautiful Fish. Looks like you were just feeding them for the video. How Awesome!!!!!!!!!
not that it matters but swordfish aren't billfish, they are swordfish different family
That's cool how the Marlin adjusts it's pec fins. Amazing footage.
Wow...those Tuna are lighting quick!
I can't even begin to describe how badass this is!

Amazing. These little cameras rock.
Dam those tunas are speedier then speed it's self"
striped not white marlin..great footage
I like to keep the rig higher so they can't see it so well. They smell it but still aren't sold.
That is outstanding well done.
Very nice! Good idea. Although, next time try shooting in 720p at 60 fps. It's a lower resolution, but GoPro shoots in a wider angle and the slow motion is smoother ;)
That video is a masterpiece. Did run the dredge on cable in case you got bit off ?

Awesome video!!!
How was the gopro rigged? Can't wait to get to Ocean City to fish on the Evidently in a few weeks.

What kind of camera are you using??

Sweet video
greatest footage of trollpro so far.....
Excellent vid. Use a TrollPro housing to keep the horizon level.

How much fish did you catch?
How many knots were you trolling at?

Is that real bait on the dredge?
Great view!!!
