    Hello ma'am! I have a query. Being from electrical engineering background and having interest in data science, after completing graduation I started doing self study for the same but even after putting lots of effort I am not placed. Should I consider doing masters degree in Data Science so that I can have a CS degree to start with. Or should I still look for an internship like opportunity to start my career in this?!.

    Exactly an eye opening video.. many of my friends are doing masters and MBA's so I was confused & I just asked them why you're doing it the only answers I get is better pakage and move abroad (I understand abroad part but to get better pakage I wasn't sure)
    My approach is simple:
    1. Instead of spending 2 years is masters or MBA spend 2 years working somewhere with your desired role.
    2. And side by side for daily learn something related to same and improve your skills levels for atleast 1-2 hours daily
    is it really hard to get better package after doing this What will you suggest mam?
    Another thing I wanted to ask while learning these things I am leveraging free or self audit courses so should I collect those certificates along the way or experience itself will work or those kinda certified/professional certifications do they'll help me?
    Perceptive: I have BE degree from non CS/IT but working in my desired role.

    • @theCorporateDiaries
      @theCorporateDiaries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Dear Shreyas, you have concluded it really well, and your 2 point is absolutely true, that leveling up of skill for 1-2 hr daily will take you up the ladder very soon than a masters with avg. skills..
      And to answer your last question, self learning (free/paid) is life changing and please do collect the certificates/proofs along the way of these learnings (if feasible), they definitely add to the credibility and it shows that you are putting efforts towards your career growth.
      All the best dear..

    May of my friends are pursuing MBA..
    I also want but not that financially strong to do my MBA with a very good college that too leaving my job..
    What should I do..?
    Is the MBA degree from a local or average college would do..?
    Shall I continue my job and then apply for a distance MBA .?

    • @theCorporateDiaries
      @theCorporateDiaries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dear Aditi, you should def. continue your job, HR is one area where work/job is much more important that any degree, I would suggest you to pursue any online HR programs or HR programs designed for working professionals, many institutes provides that (on weekends) and even renowned colleges like XLRI and IIM also provide these for working professionals, I am not sure of fee though... If you can not go for good premium college where placements are kind of good then do not ever leave the job and do MBA from normal college as that would again leave you in the freshers offcampus job market which is very competitive and will hardly make any difference in your life. You can also do "Distance MBA", but that not worth much, neither it will add any skill in your forte nor it will be valued by companies much.

    • @theCorporateDiaries
      @theCorporateDiaries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MBA HR is anyday better, as it gives you skills plus a direction HR, as employers do seek education in HR.. you can start through the profile of "recruitment" in HR, that doesn't require MBA degree, but for that you should have some HR skill..

    • @theCorporateDiaries
      @theCorporateDiaries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can do your MCA online, then it will be a good move for you, Infosys Operation Executive role can turn out to be good of you work well in their training, In the Operations executive role, they will train you for few months and will allot you different languages to work upon. If they see that you are catching up on things well and can implement those things in the application or development part then after your training is done, they will place you for the development role else if your performance is not good then you will be placed in the testing role or even support role. So, everything depends upon your hard work, efforts and willingness to learn and adapt new things.

    I totally disagree with your point that 3 year degree graduates should go for masters. Industries nowadays are totally skill-based. They don't care about your degree- bachelor's or masters. I personally feel that graduates should start working right after their graduation, any field. It will give them the momentum and the broad perspective about their career.

    Good afternoon Mam,
    I had this query that why do most CEOs (B.Tech) do MS and then MBA, when they are only doing Management work? and is it necessary to do MS to be eligible to be a CEO?
    Thanking you,
    TM

    • @theCorporateDiaries
      @theCorporateDiaries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Dear Tanmay, No its not at all mandatory to do a MS for being a CEO or even MBA... I am not sure at which stage of career you are(student or working) but you seem to have a very cinematic view about career growth, in corporate the Managers,Directors and CEOs that you see not all get these high end educations, most of them get promoted to that position for the work they do, how well they do it and the biggest factor of being a CEO, how well you understand business and can take it to next profit level along with the growth of the employees working in the company.
      Its not just "Managing", people at that level are paid to "take decisions" not for operational tasks, decisions that can take company ahead.
      All of this might not sound logical to you, but as you will grow in your career, you will slowly begin to understand the bigger picture.
      Also most of the managers/directors in IT industry started their career with a technical degree and along the way they earn these certificates through distance programs specifically designed for working professionals.
