marty Mcfly i was bboying when that was invented. it came out of france. but i read the RB def and it seems it was redefined in recent yrs along with some other new things.
blonde won clearly... take a look at the categories... he should have won battle and originality but he didn't,.. so the real result should have been 3-2 with blonde winner (and by the way i think foundation was a tie so maybe even 3-1) ROBBERY
Both are really good. Blonde's pretty much a legend and most people would occasionally use that in favor of blonde, but overall Blonde took this match by a mile, maybe even two. Both were really on point. Issei does do a lot of halos, but he still kills it. This match I would really say should've went to Blonde.
Great battle, i really enjoyed it. Two of my favorite bboys and experience vs young talent is always fun to watch. So glad we have youtube now to watch all of these great battles.
One point is to be all-arounded, besides having a consistent foundation, wich was the primal issue we were discussing. A really good toprocker could score a perfect 5 showing solid toprock fundamentals, even though I doubt he could get a good score in the other categories or win the actual battle. I don't believe it to be the ultimate judging system, but it alouds to respect the foundation of each dancer's style.
damnnnn totally feel like blonde won on foundation, dynamics, originality, and battle. like chicken noodle said, he did get sloppy though. what a shame. blonde is so fresh!
lol just tell this to these judges: - Ronnie (USA) - Execution - Wing (Korea) - Originality - Icey Ice (USA) - Dynamics - Lamine (France) - Cypher Battle - Fever One (USA) - Foundation i think they know exactly what is good! in my opinion issei got soul and that's why he won
issei first round for battle is 5...what did he do to get a 5 in battle attitude. is it just do a throw down and get back to your spot lol. Someone tell me how battle is being accounted for cuz my brain hurts. this whole system hurts my brain xD
No need for name calling dude. Yes there are a handful of freezes in there, but they are used as transitions rather than actual freezes. Observant or not, the footwork from both is minimal.
Im From Brazil realmente racha muito foda , esperamos b.boy blond ainda colar em algum campeonato no brasil ia ser muito foda esse racha zoa muito e dança muito tbm Paz ... b.,boy Otaku
Benjamin Bernard Seng do u even know whho competed in this 1on1? morris mounir niek....guess u dont know issei nor blonde. both are 1on1 beasts even with powermoves. i mean issei won r16 straight 2 ttimes in a row lol
SilversRylai213 i know they competited as well. But why didnt they get through and someone like issei for example got through. I mean.. how does all rounders lose to powerheads?!
originality? benajmin understands my point, r16 looks like a powermove competition, no footwork, no originality, no musicality, if this were a competition like that differ, mounir or morris would be there (sry for my enligsh) but u know, judges decided
before i see that score board i couldn't understand why blond lost. but now i understand. OUR system was right. guys, we only remember the afterimages of big scale therefore we can barley focus on every part of bboying. but judges on OUR system, they only concentrate on their part for judging they don't care for rest side so they can capture the details that we can't. if you think still blond got robbed, just imagine you're the judge for one of categories once and evaluate that battle again.
If we're claiming that we can powermoves can have their own fundamentals that are equal to toprock/footwork/freeze fundamentals, that means that for example a really good toprocker could do an entire set of toprock with maybe one freeze or something in the middle and theoretically score equal points to Issei or Blonde here. This never happens though because the system is too vague, unbalanced, and applied incoherently
I see them doing like 50+ freezes... do you not see the drops into spinning side chairs.. elbow freezes? freezes are all aroundddd like unicorns on a rainbow. bro.
If Blond wasn't acting like an idiot clowning around, trying to make fun of a 15 year old Issei he could have won. Instead he managed to make himself look like a fool.
I agree with you that Blonde lack several things in this battle and people shouldn't really criticize the judges for their decision. But I completely disagree that you are discouraging people to post their opinion on who they think won this battle.
why do people say this? its not as if judges talk to each other and say " guys lets give them a tiebreak" or talk with each other to make the votes equal. There are 3-5 separate judges for a reason.
There is no wrong or right way to judge, nor is it wrong to assert one's opinion on who was better in the battle. Don't spread that hate, just let people view a set the way they want to and don't give them crap for it.
I personally don't agree with you 100%. I still think musicallity is a BIG part of foundation and that too each has their own unique set of power. Although I do agree that there aren't many in R16 that do footwork, these bboys still deserve to be appreciated.
Powermove foundations are not breaking foundations. They are merely one part of the dance. Toprock, footwork, and freezes are equally important building blocks of breaking. I think the OUR system is a nice idea but it isn't as well-defined or adhered to as it's creators claim it to be. Judges still interpret the categories in their own ways so that, for example, this year you have a judge giving 4/5 for a power set whereas last year Born gave out 3's for almost everything. It's inconsistent
For Battle, Issei was facing Blond most of the time, ending his sets in front of Blond, and looking at Blond. They were pretty much equal for the rest of the criteria for Battle.
I don't think there should be a "system" for judging here.. As in break it down into parts etc. It strips the creativity. . Rather, sometimes what u see first is your best judgement..you can see it through the battle.. And I saw guy in the right won the battle.
no. under this judging system, issei wins. blond can't get more than 1 vote no matter how strong his moves are. you can tell by his expression at the end he thought it was bs. in a real street battle, blond would've won. he was clearly stronger.
Foundation is confidence and musicality. Even then, those two categories are divided into sub-categories.. So there's more qualifications than you think. Yes, there are sometimes mistakes. Humans can only be so perfect...
Blonde Error 404 : footwork not found ! And JonattanD you're right, but in B-Boying you need all elements, not just focus on one like Blonde did in this battle...
Even tho personally I think Blond won, That doesn't downgrade Issei at all! The kid is a beast ! And he was only like 16 when this happened? Kid is bout to run the bboy scene with pocket ! ... Shit gets me Excited dam
Why are people hating on powerheads? Bboying is bboying. It's all about your style or your way. Some people like being well rounded, while some enjoy straight up power or footwork, EVERYONE is different, so there's no "Better" bboy, just DIFFERENT bboys.
why is it that when people only see power they say "wheres the footwork?" and when they see all footwork no one asks "wheres all the power at? learn to appreciate all the different aspects.
are you guys trippin' or something ? Musicality should be 100% foundation ( A MUST HAVE IN ANY CASES ) Without musicality there is no way to define dancing. The only that really grind my gear is that Issei seemed to repeat lots of halo and same freezes. But that's it. Other than that everything work fine for me.
Normally I would agree with you. However, now that I think of it, we all have the right to submit our own opinions. They may not be as valid as those of the judges, but we are still allowed our own input. Who knows? Maybe the judges can learn from us. As long as we aren't pretentious in the thought we are correct and no one else is, we should be aloud to write what we want. Just be respectful, back up your opinions, don't put yourself above anyone, and know the limits of your knowledge.
Explicit didnt u notice that issei sets was only halos and other variations of halos. Blond set was creative than issei the only problem i think his sets was only too short
It doesn't...not exactly...but this is the final battle of one of the biggest one-on-one competitions in the world, so in a way it's kinda representative of the current b-boy scene
WHAAT ISSEI MADE IT TO THE FINAL AGAIN THIS YEAR?? DAYYUUUM THIS KID IS ON FIIIIIRE HE IS ON HIS WAY TO BECOME THE BEST HE IS ONLY WHAT 15-16 YEARS OLD AS WELL HOLY FOK
b-boy blond did slow-airflare at 2001 (when issei was 4year old kid) that's why blond was laughing when issei showed copy sign to him
+17teacmrocks you don't know what bite sign means? You should learn more about b-boying battle and history lol

Yeah right that was hilarious
IMO, Foundation- Blonde. Originality- Blonde. Dynamics- Issei. Execution- Blond Battle- Blonde
dude yeah i almost completely agree. i thought issei did better on execution though
Blond's laugh was pure evil lol
you are very weak if you think so. this laugh is normal reaction to people who embarasses themselves :D

I think Issei won round 2, round 3 tie, but round 1 was 100% Blond. Messed up judges lmao
Round 2 is the slow motion airflare round which is clearly Blond in any possible way@@user-sr5kj6ej9z
Blond was just fucking with Issei LOL!

Slow air-flare is Blond's original move he did it so long long ago. Early in 2000s. Issei is too young to know it. So he did the copy sign to Blond.
I lol' hard when Blonde was gesturing having a broom and sweeping Issei lol.
LOL right when Issei called bite on the slow airflares, i had a connection with blonde, we laughed at the same thing at the same time! Hahaha
Blonde was just having fun as usual
Blond should have taken it
First song ? And last ? :) good beats
How was blonde biting? I remember him doing that way back in the extreme crew days.
Blond got robbed!
I think the best part is when Blond laughs and questions Issei bite sign and is like "I was doing 2000s before you were born son" on 2:14

anyone know the second song after kill bill remix?
How does Issei get a 5 in Battle his first set, yet Blonde gets a 4 after doing Issei's slow motion with Airflares?
since when did foundation = footwork?
I love how Blonde is always laughing and smiling during his sets. Shows that he bboys as a passion, not a career. (:

Blond had better moves and Issei is kinda repetitive with the halos and mills. Blond only lost cause he got sloppy in his last rounds.

I think you can get those high scores when you did different variation of powermoves in a set, that's why Issei can easily win with our system.

I don't think there should be a "system" for judging here..
As in break it down into parts etc.
It strips the creativity. .
Rather, sometimes what u see first is your best judgement..you can see it through the battle..
And I saw guy in the right won the battle.
I think Issei was implying that the slow-mo gimmick is Japan's move (Yosshi from Mortal Kombat)
Not all his freezes were facing him and he repeated that tapmill to footwork twice in this battle alone.
no. under this judging system, issei wins. blond can't get more than 1 vote no matter how strong his moves are. you can tell by his expression at the end he thought it was bs. in a real street battle, blond would've won. he was clearly stronger.
