    I just tied the blue and green together and used just one knock sensor. Put the one on the front passgenger side head --like you did,,

      I have seen many do it this way. Dealers choice..

    Thanks for posting this series of videos. I have the same problem with my 2000 Silverado and am going to do the same as you just did after replacing the sensors under the manifold with cheaper non-OEM sensors that didn't work. Argh! Not going to pull that intake one more time. Thx again for sharing your success story.

    Thanks for the experiment! Same problem both brand new AC Delco knock sensors, RTV dam, and Dorman harness on a 04 Silverado. In my hastiness, didnt torque the knock sensors in an otherwise fairly clean valley with no corrosion in the sensor wells. Still have the original sensors that weren't throwing a code, so decided to do your experiment as well before I decide to take off the intake again. I know you've probably been barraged with questions about the drivers side adaptation, but I haven't seen any thing in the comments on specifics. What kind of metal and/or grade is the coupler and the stud (galvanized, stainless)? Was the stud just some allthread or a bolt that you cut the head off? Did you torque the stud, coupler, and knock sensor to the required 15 ft/lbs.?

      i too am curious about whether or not the video author torqued to 15 ft/lbs as the conventional method calls for.

    Who sells the M10 1.25 coupler and stud? I cannot find them anywhere.

      I found them at my local Ace Hardware.
      But it's been a few years now. Pre shit storm.

    Glad to see the relocation is working for you. I had the same problem five years ago with a 2000 5.3 Sierra. I did pull the manifold, new Delco sensors, and wiring harness. I also torqued the sensors correctly and did the rtv dam to prevent water intrusion. Well damn, got the code for bank one again. I kept the bank two original sensor working and did the alternate location on the end of the passenger head. Mine's still working great like that. Thanks for your video, brother!

    i have the p0332 code for a year now, Im thinking of doing this soon too, nothing is wrong with my engine just that specific KS, is all your power back and is the acceleration responsive again after doing this??

    • @2lotony
      @2lotony  ปีที่แล้ว

      Never lost power or anything else, just check engine light with code stating knock sensors.

    What about the old ones under the intake what are they still in there. Do they need to be in there for leaks so the oil doesn't come out of the engine where the cam is?

      @@2lotony ok well i appreciate it. I always just take out the intake manifold. Took it out like 5 times already getting good at it. Hopefully this time the replacements are good.

    Thanks a million! I had a chain repair shop replace both of my knock sensors, I provided the new harnes and the ac delco part, but that repair failed.. So, I am going to relocate next.. thanks for info on the hardware intephase

    Just take the intake off, it really isnt that much. Take off the air intake hose, 3 bolts throttle body, 8 bolts on the intake manifold, 3 bolts on top harness…THEN grab a beer! 🍻🇺🇸

      @41663 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah right after I drop my tranny , replace it then Ill do the sensor replacement. Should be done in about 2 hours 😂

      you left out the fuel lines. the coolant lines to the manifold... replacing gaskets and cleaning the surfaces for new gaskets. there are actually 10 bolts holding manifold in place- not 8.... plus the annoying torque sequence for those 10 bolts. not to mention having to climb all in the f'ing engine bay.
      ive done the intake method once before... i will be relocating the knock sensors for the win.

    Yeah the hell with taken the intake off. I did all this and came to the "I need an exstension thing" part. Hopefully the hardware place can help with this. To buy them on line was $80 . I guess theyre made out of gold from that place. So is your rig still runnin ? Thanks
