Malthusian Theory was very much valid in the time when it was proposed... In today's times, it seems to be a little vague because of the advancements that Humankind has done...

Malthus' model can be termed as a Mathematical model... But it does not follows all of its characteristics... I think Malthusian Theory is more a Stochastic Model than a Mathematical Model...
