      Why? If you don’t keep up with re-twists your roots will loc up into one in a matter of months.

      @crystalbee9706 incorrect information. This is a myth. Too much manipulation, as in too many styles can lead to thinning and balding. Most people who get retwists also get styles the same day. That's why it appears that the retwists are causing issues. In all reality, retwists are needed to keep locs uniform. Waiting too long not only causes the roots to loc, just like the above comment mentioned, but also leads to thinning locs due to the ripping/separation needed to part the hair during a prolonged retwist. Only time retwists should be skipped is if you're aiming for freeform locs.
