Xie xie lao shi. This was very useful. We never used any of these phrases in class. Believe it or not, we had a lot of native Mandarin speakers in our class who have lived in the US a short time and were learning English through the Mandarin class. The other students were Cantonese speakers, 1 Korean, 1 Vietnamese, some American born Chinese, and only 3 native English speakers. Pretty interesting mix. I loved it because the native Mandarin speakers would correct my pronunciation and tell me other ways to say the same thing. I would try to help them with their English.

hello Danny, I didn't give it a 4th tone.the original tone of 白bái is 2nd tone, but in spoken language, most of the time it becomes a neutral tone, so you just let it fall naturally, that's why you hear it like a 4th tone, but it's not, it's a neutral tone 😊😊😊.

we use 一下 when we ask a favor , to make the favor sounds not so heavy , make it sound like a quick action 😊💙🍡
