I remember someone playing this on a gmod server and it was my introduction to both Death Grips and Vaporwave This song always reminds me of those days.
Well if a computer freezes due to overheating problems, the answer actually makes sense. Overheating is, of course, a problem that can occur in PCs due to heat being a product of the die processing and so it creates heat from the workload. Of course, the heat isnt good when it reaches high tempertures, specifically around the 85-95 Celcius range. When this happens, the freezes is basically a way for the CPU to take a break to let off heat due to the workload. It's also what causes stuttering when using the computer in a heavy work environment. E.G Rendering a Complex 3D scene, A mass of scripts all at once, Bad VRMs on a Motherboard due to the CPU needing more power/headroom. A common way to remedy this is to stop using the computer for a period for it to cool down. This can take a minute or more depending on the power of the PC and what exactly is processing. Another way to remedy this with hardware is by adding more cooling inside the PC such as a Fan or perhaps a Watercooling Pump. Though these cant really be reliable ways to solve the issue as the problem may lie into the VRMs as said earlier. This problem is one of the worst case scenarios as you may need to replace the motherboard entirely with a higher quality model costing much more than the original board most of the time. I hope this answers your question about why a computer freezes due to overheating.
