My Awl
I can’t live without my sharp stabby tool as I call it, used for making holes for my snaps. Many Kam snap kits come with one if not any leather awl will do the job.
From Amazon -
Large Squizzors - These are listed as aquarium precision pinch action scissors.
Small squizzors - These are listed a pinch action scissors
You will have to a search for them on Amazon in your own country.
Stabilizers
Stabilizers the three that I use for my stitch outs are Brothread wash away, Brothread cut away and Brothread invisible mesh.
I don't use tear away except for planning out my fabrics in a crazy patch project, as it tends to fail when there is satin stitching in the design.

Another lovely design! Love the step by step videos.
The Dresden Design is only limited to your imagination.
Thank you for a wonderful demonstration of this pattern.
Great video. I’ve never seen a design like this done entirely in the hoop. Love the heart in the center.
Love the design. Best thing is it is totally done in the hoop. No having to put wedges together on regular sewing machine.
Thanks for great tutorial.
Dresden plate quilt block first debut in 1920s. But first published as a quilt block pattern in 1930s.
Very popular as dresden block quilts till 1950s. Usually a circle in centre and pointed shaped . Can ve 8 points or more.
Thank you I could never do this without your tutorial. Purchased this and excited to try this lost my husband in 2024 and had a stroke. Working my way back. Finally embroidering again.
Good to hear that you are healing
@@Marnie1869 I am sorry for your loss. I wish you a good recovery. I too had a stroke 25 years ago, lost the use if my right side, so I appreciate that the road to recovery is long and tough. Never give up, the more determined you are the better your recovery will become. Machine embroidery is a great choice of pastime and a good workout for the hands. Keep up the good work. Happy stitching. 🧵
Although the Dresden plate has been around since the 1800s it did not become popular until the 1920s-1930s when the Dresden porcelain company became popular.
Thank you once again for a beautiful design and awesome step by step instructions. 💕
Your color choice is outstanding!
Thank you for another great tutorial. Did you put something on the back of your fabric? And if so what and why, I’m curious. I noticed it was white and I was thinking it might be interfacing but I thought the best person to ask would be you. Have a great day.
Hi @@DeeVeeG yes I put a light weight iron on interfacing on the back of this fabric as it doesn’t do well with the satin stitching if I don’t. Don’t be afraid of doing this to help strengthen your more fragile fabrics if needs be. Thanks for watching. Happy stitching 🧵
Thank you for the advice, it’s a beautiful design.
@@DeeVeeG you’re welcome. Happy stitching 🧵
I am sorry you had difficulty filming, however, your tutorial turned out well and based on your previous tutorials I believe this one to be of the same quality. Thank you. My fact: The number of blades needed to complete a Dresden plate depends on the angle of the blades. There really is no defined end shape of the blade making it a very versatile block shape.
Dresden wedge or blade are angled, and that angle is measured in degrees. If the sides of each blade are straighter (fewer degrees), then it takes more of them to complete a 360º circle or plate. If the sides of each blade are more angled (more degrees), it will take fewer to complete a plate.
Love this design. I’ve made a traditional Dresden with 20 blades, would really like to make this one!
Sew very lovely. I adore your designs, sew many places have sew much baby stuff but y’all have a great variety last year I made the sewn together I love you with the big heart in the middle for a gift and my friend thought I had purchased it in a high end store. Please tell me what type of tape you are using. God Bless and keep up the great designs. Starting the they gave all. Very excited to begin.
I wish the old fashion pattern pieces would be available for those of us who cant afford an embroidery machine.
@@rbcreations2 sorry this channel is all about machine embroidery.
