The best interview by far on the Investing hour. Cutting through the clutter with precision and clear thought. The key takeaways:- 1. Build your exposure to markets on a clear head always -meditation 2. Avoid herd mentality and people/opinion tracing 3. Know the Why in the source of a rule or majority opinion - Equity weightage, index investing and rules of liquidity -Endowment funds 4. Asset diversification - don't be a jack of all trades, if you are excellent in equity - go direct investing, if it's real-estate go all in there.. 5. Good business identification trumps price and timing of markets. 6. Having a fairly good idea of macro - geopolitics, govt policies, keeps us bullish on the roadmap for 5 to 10 years and that's a sweet spot to invest in a country - that runway for India is wide, long and a take off that has long & interesting travel times -even 30 years. 7. Spirit of generosity - it's not your money, that doesn't mean you don't live a frugal ascetic life but always prioritise the underprivileged, others over your self as one crosses a basic threshold in one's lifestyle. 8. One of the rarest breeds who can be social without being social. This interview needs to reach a larger canvas, - owning a thought process that delivers results on his process, not going on overdrive to appease Dalal Street and keeping things fairly simple. Thankyou for a wonderful interview
Fantastic knowledge and wisdom filled discussion. It was thanks to listening to Mr. Vartak that I started looking at my investments more seriously and even though my portfolio is too small to be considered eligible Sage 1 it opened my eyes to other similar people who are helping me get my investments in the right track. Deeply grateful to him. 🙏
Very disappointed to see such a detailed probing into his academic and family background at the beginning Samit Vartak is definitely one of the most inspiring fund managers of our time and the interviewer should mind that fact
Another excellent interview.. for most videos I wait till the end before hitting like... For this interview series, I hit like first because I know what is coming 😃
Ironically Mr. Vartak funds put a limit of 2 crores for minimum investment in disguise of saying ‘ they wants only serious investor and investors don’t bug them ‘. He may be right one side and within his own right but he is missing huge another side , by doing that he excluding many NOt so privileged starts of the society. And on top that he went on saying that money is not needed for the real happiness or should not run behind many things. Imagine a society where everyone follows this philosophy! There is nothing wrong in working hard to get rich , everyone shall try to do that find self happiness in hard working then only countries and societies get rich and minimize suffering of masses !
