    Hi Bryn, thanks for the videos, they're a great help. I did this but then, when securing the linkage, I broke the retaining bolt. Help needed in sunny Tamworth

    Had to do this myself last year with a new pickup, luckily its far easier on the 180FWD with the box still fitted, no access issues and a satisfying fix to do.

    Thank fuck for a good editor. Great video with plenty of voice over explaining. And no irritating drum and base background music. The background music is irritating to say the least. “ none of that here “ I’ll be watching a few more of your videos. What a great educational video.

      Some of my videos do contain a bit of background music to break things up, but the education is always the priority

    There are I think two more plastic bushes at the selector and 5 under the gear knob inside the car (the round ball thingy on the selector and a few more), all the gear knob bushes cost 12eur from Audi and are still available plus the ones you shown and for about 20 you get a gear selector that feels like a brand new car. Did all mine when the cable bushes went and now at 250.000 kms the gear knob feels amazing. A very worthy fix. Thanks for the video mate.

    Do you happen to know what would cause the gear stick to be hard to put into 5th but all the other gears work fine, I took it into have it linkage adjusted but the guy at the shop mentioned something about a bushing or something needing to be replaced which would need to be done by a specialist.

    amazing video, been loving the content recently! could you possibly do a video on the TT mk1 and how to fix the display screen behind the steering wheel? mine is all jumbled and it is very hard to read. thank you!!

    • @BWSTT
      @BWSTT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will be doing one at some point, but its not really an amateur DIY, and if you have the skills to do it, you probably already know how to do it, as it requires soldering a strip connection to change the display unit

    Hi all, has the same prob with mine, before I stripped down, I sprayed liberously with WD40 twice and left overnight, it then free'd up! Unfortunately WD40 dries out, so sprayed (aerosol can) with general purpose lithium white grease on all pin entry exit/entry points. It's worked I perfect for 5 months and all over hot summer! 😎

    Had this problem on both my TT's sorted both with gearbox in, one sorted with rubber grease, without removing plastic clips, the other plastic clips got destroyed, just cleaned hole with small circular file attached to mole grips. Replaced plastic clips from Autodoc.
