Why does everyone only want club bangers nowadays, especially given the fact that people don't even dance anymore. Is it because most of these rappers can't actually rap, so it's easy for them to hide behind the beat? I don't understand how anyone could be a true rap/hip hop fan, but expect all of the songs to be the same. Why do people only care about the beat? I like to actually listen to the lyrics as well as the beat. Kendrick was trying to politely warn Drake with his other songs. Once Family Matters dropped, that's when Kendrick said enough is enough. Meet the Grahams was supposed to be dark and eerie. It was intentional. Kendrick won hands down because he's showing he has layers. Not only is he an actual lyricist, but he can make a club banger if he wanted to. That's not what he's about. He expects people to actually listen and process what's being said instead of focusing on a beat.
