    I remember fishing out of Port Patrick a number of years ago, a Sunday in early summer, flat calm sea and almost silent, just before lunch time we could hear a far distant buzzing sound, it got louder and then a wee flotilla of small fishing boats appeared in the distance. When we got back to port the boats were all tied up in the harbour and the guys were in the local bar, it seems a regular occurrence when the conditions are right. I promised myself then one day I would have a boat and do Scotland to Ireland, that was 30 years ago, this video has rekindled that wish.

      It is vetween 13 and 17 miles accross from Bangor or Donagadee to Scotland, on a calm day you can speed accross in around an hr😎👍

      @@paulmayne3657 it's 21 statute miles but going nowhere to nowhere, I. E pointless. Bangor to Stranraer was 45 ish if memory serves. Its not that far though, we done kip marina to ballycastle last November which was much longer day.

    could i take this on with a 5.8 m rib in moderate weather ?

    • @raptorheli2
      @raptorheli2  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If its a decent rib you have then no problem with right conditions. I mean good conditions, not moderate. I used to have a 5.6 RIB and it would have been pretty hard on way back in that.

      @@raptorheli2 forgive my ignorance, it seemed the conditions in the video were calm, am i wrong? I also am looking to buy a 5.8 so i am trying to assess how it would handle moderate chop

    • @raptorheli2
      @raptorheli2  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@salimsopari they were not bad. You need to keep in mind a wide lens (gopro) flattens everything. It was quite rough in places on way home but still okay. It would depend on the conditions and boat if can make the journey safely. Its not a big journey to make in right conditions at all.

      @@raptorheli2 thanks for the reply, im on lake ontario, and it's got some chop, no where as much as an ocean, but it's not a small body of water either, and this is where i hope to enjoy my 5.8 when i get it

    Which part of Scotland your depart from? Do you know how many gallons you use for this trip. Thanks.

      The place we left is in the video buddy- Stranraer. I used about 90 litres of fuel give or take.
