Hi Colton! Sound like a great plan and goal setting! I set some small goals this summer. Shot my first cartridge of Super 8 film and getting another cartridge soon. Doing portraits for the first time too. I have not done much people or street photography. Doing less gear shopping and doing more production. I usually do nature, architectural and macro photography. Also got some 35mm film, using some old rangefinder and 1/2 frame cameras as well. Basically using what I purchases over the years and focusing on keeping it simple. You have such a great channel and content here! Great to see people are watching and subscribing! Thanks again for sharing!
How did the Super8 go? Were you shooting anything specific? Doing portraits for the first time sounds really exciting. I always find it to be challenging in a good way. A different type of challenge from shooting inanimate objects because you have to connect in a more complex way with your subject. Very excited for you! I agree that trying to stay focused on and make the most of, the gear you already own is a goal of mine too. Can be hard in our heavy marketing/advertising world, but I find there is more benefit in personal/creative growth there! Thanks for watching and sharing as always!
@@ColtonMatocha So far so god, that being said I have not seen the footage yet. It is part of a 6 person project where we were given a word to film. how we interpret that was up to us. Shooting was a bit of a nervous time,. I used a very simple super 8 camera with very little controls. Basically shoot in bright sun....don't have anything with in 8 feet...and just press the trigger. I took a timer and just broke the 3-4 minutes up. It was fun, but can not wait to see it. Had someone ask me about the camera when shooting and they thought no one shot film anymore, opened up a conversation about film and cameras. Thanks for asking!
@@thissidetowardscreen4553 that sounds like a really fun project! Will the film be combined into a single video at the end? Or would each person just show off what they shot individually?
@@ColtonMatocha I think we are just going to do a live stream and watch the films together, though individuals will get a digital copy. There is no editing...so it is straight out of the camera. should be fun!
