The “Ignore x% of target’s DEF” trait has traditionally been one of the most powerful things you can get in Genshin or Star Rail. Raiden in Genshin has a self-buff version of this in her C2 and it’s what makes that stopping point very desirable. Ignoring DEF scales with percentage of enemy's stat so it will never be powercrept even by future enemies with larger health pool and because it's totally passive, it can't be resisted (i.e. no need effect hit rate). For Ruan Mei to get this at E1 is almost too good to be true.
What if I have Memories of the Past but only S2? Should I still try for E1 or get her LC? I have a guarantee on LC banner and pretty high pity and I'm also debating about getting Dr. Ratio his LC.

This video helped me be at ease since I didn't go for her LC. I spent a bit more Jades trying to get Xueyi but she didn't show up. I really like her LC's art though so God-willing I'd like to get it on her rerun.
The issue with her lc is that she cant get 3 turn roration unless you use hh, but then you need your hh to get 3 turn rotation but hh also cant get 3 turn rotation without getting hit
I pulled Ruan Mei on 50/50. Even though I don't have any copies of Memories of the Past, I need to save my pulls for Black swan since I mainly run a DoT team. As much utility her LC provides, I can't afford the pulls for it right now, not with Black Swan being so close now.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I feel that her E1 is not as broken as it seems. DEF% shred/ignore sees little effect until it stacks up (e.g., Pela + SW). 20% DEF ignore is about 12% more damage, which is good but not insane. Second, you probably don't play RM with Pela or SW anyway. In a duo dps team, you have two dps, one sustain, and RM herself, meaning her E1 isn't gonna be busted. Some 0-cycler may argue taking out sustain for Pela/SW, but I doubt most player would not find that pleasant experience.
@@bluemoon9683 Let A be your character level+20, and B be the enemy level+20. Whatever damage you can do, the enemy receives only A/(A+B) of it. The DEF% shred/ignore reduces B part. So, assuming your level is 80, your enemy is 95, and no DEF% shred/ignore, the fraction is 100/(100+115) = 0.465 E1 Ruan Mei lets you ignore 20% of 115, so that part becomes 92. The fraction is then 100/(100+92) = 0.521, which is just 12% increase from 0.465 Hope that explains it.
@@bluemoon9683 This comment chain might be misleading you a bit too. Not 12% atk but 12% more total damage as a minimum/worst case scenario. Any form of defence reduction/penetration scales better the more you already have until 100% defence reduction. Which means that already just having dot set with 18% defence pen or Jingliu LC you would get more value. Simply having only the dot set will increase total damage from her e1 to around 13.4% more total damage instead. Add a Pela ultimate to the mix and the 13.4% turns into around 18.7% more total damage instead. A good thing to compare it to would be Ruan Mei LC and its 24% damage bonus. Since Ruan Mei already gives gives 68% damage bonus in her kit the absolute maximum 24% more damage bonus would be able to give is around 14.3% more total damage however no character really has 0% damage bonus in their kit and gear and from other buffers. Simply having a damage bonus sphere on a character would make the 24% damage bonus from her LC give a maximum of around 11.6% more total damage and this value decreases further for each point of damage bonus a character already has in their kit. So in the worst possible scenario for her e1 it increases the total damage by a little less than the best possible scenario for her LC. This is ofcourse also not taking into account the uptime of her e1 and LC.

Her E1 against single target enemy additionally deals Ice DMG equal to 100% of Jingliu's ATK. How much would the total damage increase be in % compared to e0 in the same scenario.
I got her E1 with S5 Memories. I am now contemplating on which future characters should I pull for. I need a new DPS of Fire/Wind/Phys since I already have Jingyuan, Jingliu and Seele, even Dr. Ratio.

My friend, love your videos and especially how you rep the husbando teams. So about her E4, it would boost her ults Thanatoplum Rebloom that delays their action by an amount equal to 20% of her Break Effect plus 10%. Does her E4 stack? Either way it means bigger delays.
I got the LC instead of E1 'cause I knew I had some pity but only had 20-30 pulls left after loosing the 50/50. I hope it's good 'cause I can't get her E1 this time.
I think you underestimate how much damage her e6 actually does, especially considering its crazy sub dps damage combined into your support character. Ive seen things like 600k fuxuan ults just because the enemy gets broken. If she breaks herself and you give her talia and break rope, she literally will do like 200k just from breaking them
I saw e6 ruan mei showcase dealing over 600k dmg 💀 and her teammates dealing similar break dmg over 600k (with pela addding def shred). It is actually frickin insane how strong it is, though it is very overkill.
I am at E0 S1, contemplating on getting her E1 or Blade. But then 2.0 offers both Black Swan and Hanabi back to back, so I think I am gonna save for both of them. 😂😂
I'd say you need to be more creative about what counts as a dps. Serval is a perfectly functional unit, for example. Many 4*s, while not on the same level as 5*s obviously, can be enough if built well. And if you have great gear for those units, when you eventually get 5*s to replace them there's a decent chance that gear will be transferable.
Wait if her E6 increases the Ult by 1 more turn wouldn't that mean you can use her Sig LC along with Vonwacq/Penacony and ER Rope and you can achieve the 3 Turn Ult? Cause you needed the Memories of the Past or Meshing Cogs to achieve 3 Turn Ult for her when the Ult only lasted 2 Turns. With her Sig LC at E0 you needed to get hit at least once to achieve this 3 Turn rotation so with E6 increasing it for 1 more turn you get that extra turn to get that little bit of energy she was missing with her Sig LC. Am I crazy? Although if you are going for her E6 chances are you are super whale and will probably go for S5 too.

I have some of the best BE sub rolls i can get and i have 200% with s5 motp... Having said that, I'd probably rather sacrifice damage than the def pen on ult. E1 basically makes her 2 characters in 1. It's hard to say that given i have the motp, and I'd probably go for the LC if i didn't, but I'm a retard who's planning to e6 kafka, so don't listen to me when it comes to money management.....
@@Doflaminguard mine's around 140 too. I genuinely don't think speed is an issue, I rarely need its entire duration to end a fight. Her increasing everyone else's speed but not her own makes more sense now though
Generally I'd say no matter how good the Eidolon is the LC is better... because you can always equip the lightcone on a different unit sometime down the line. Whereas if the unit gets powercrept... the eidolon won't change that.
s1 means superimposition one, superimposition is when u fuse a lightcone (thats the same one) into eachother. for example s5 means u had 5 of the same lightcones and fused them together. :D
Above is correct But when people refer to S1 informally, they're saying that you have the Signature Light Cone (in 1 superimposition). e.g. E0S1 is Eidolon 0, Signature LC 1

you still need to get hit once to 3T ult. Unless you have S5 signature assuming you clear the wave before ulting again
