Logical mechanics do not get any better than this guy. "Test don't guess"

Well done Chris, this does just highlight the need for a sensible outlook when looking at a full vehicle scan.
The computer works well but it needs a competent tech to understand its not just giving you a shopping list!

Very well explained Chris & the misconception that a scan tool tells us what is wrong with the car is out the window on most modern vehicles. If only the owners knew it 😬🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Very good! I've got two older Volvos (2001 V70XC & 2004 XC70) both Gasoline (petrol). I chased a problem on the V70 that indicated that the turbo boost solenoid was faulty but a new one didn't fix the issue. What I found instead was a loose connection after the turbo in the trunking that takes air from the turbo to the intercooler. I tightened the clamp where the trunking meets the short rubber hose at the discharge from the turbo and no more trouble. So true that diagnostics is often more than just replacing parts based on scan results. I've subscribed and hope to see more of your work. Greetings from British Columbia, Canada.

Great video saved me a lot of time and money. Went out and tried it on my old volvo, worked perfectly. Have watched lots of other vids and they talk about replacing various sensors egr valve etc. Could have worked out very expensive.

Point made sir. My mechanic has the same step by step diagnostic style. Checks codes and check all sensors and wiring. And it works, takes some time but it's better to spend time than money.

Hi Chris I'm currently experiencing a similar problem on my 2000 V70 I took it to a well respected Volvo "specialist" shop. After they performed preliminary diagnostic tests they told me they couldn't pinpoint the cause of the short causing the limp mode to be engaged and couldn't tell me how long any additional test s would take or even if they would be able to indentify the cause. Car was running fine prior to this w/low miles for a 2000 (101,000 Miles) I wonder if fuse 11 is the culprit? Thanks for talking us through this particular issue. Well Done!

Hi Chris is it safe to run the car with the sensor disconnected. I’m running mine since I watched your video and it’s running fine. I can’t find the sensor when I google it. Thanks

What have you disconnected? If its the sam part as in the video. The air intake heater element then you should be fine
