When building my collection i had to set rules to not cross : - No titles competing with each other - No more than 50 games - No games that i don't love the mechanics and the theme of them Right now my collection sits at 35 games, with 4 more to come and 4 left to back. From the ones sitting on my shelves, only 7 of them are not being played and will not be played before then end of 2024.
I didn't actually like it very much. As someone who's taught it a few times (on TTS) it's inefficient and skips things that should be told. I think AE deserved better.
Death May Die...nice try..you know the game is great and you know each boss makes the game very different. It's not a question of gameplay, it's about can you afford it and if you have space in your life.
Try base Wingspan. If you don't like it expansions are not going to help. But if you do, you'll play with all expansions. More birds, more bonus cards and adds no difficulty.
Andromedas edge actually looks insane to want to play. I’ve seen the how to store video by cardboard alchemy and I was like this has to be a joke! Ironwood looks promising! Guilty Gear I’ll need to check that out, I love the video game! I also need to see what Bullet is about, I’ve never played that. Thanks for another great video!
I've taught Andromeda's edge and Arcs a few times each (Granted, AE only in TTS currently), and Arcs is the game no one will play, but AE will likely get played a lot. Everyone I've played Dwellings with liked it (it might not have been a favorite but they enjoyed themselves). No one I've played Arcs with IRL enjoyed it. Good luck. I know everyone is harping about how great Arcs is, but I'm probably going to sell my kickstarter copy. I noticed you used a graphic of the board from before the major changes; if you haven't played it since then, it's different and the subtleties of those differences make it less fun, IME.
I am in the same boat (pun intended) as you with the Marvel United. My buddy who participated in his first Kickstarter with Marvel United already got his pledge. We ordered the same day.
The expansion for Wingspan that adds in nectar is great!! It doesn’t do much to change the game, the nectar is wild. I would not play without this expansion. Plus you get more cards and goals. 🔥🔥🔥
The Asia expansion that adds more players and add a two player sort of duo. It’s ok but only would only play the original way. It can add more players. I would not play more than 4. I wish I did not buy the Asia expansion.
I’m hoping base arcs will be interesting enough to table a lot! Oath is a 5+ player game. People playing with 3 or 4 people are really not getting the experience! Don’t play it with 2 lol
Where these tactical dueling games are concerned I don't mind having quite a few of them since I usually play at 2 players anyway but most of all it's better to have options because of the confrontational nature of such games, if whoever you're playing them with just isn't that good at a particular game neither of you will have much fun (this is especially true for Summoner Wars where you can tell pretty quickly that you're gonna win easily if the other player is making some basic mistakes).
I am giving Cthulhu Death May Die Fear of the Unknown a try. I do not want to purchase Seasons 2, 3 and 4 so hope the core game plus Unknowable Box (both retail work out well)
Chris, how can you not like Vale of Eternity? I love this game! You start to know the cards so you may have to change strategy to win. I welcome an expansion- more cards but worry about the other cards which gives you buffs every turn. It makes me think of Cascadia Landmarks. I don’t care for Landmarks.
The only downside to Cthulhu imo is the plastic bloat. Don't get me wrong, I definitely need variability and replayability... But I don't need a different sculpt per investigator or monsters. Like seriously, you can have 10 variant of the same character/monster. I am likely going to be storing half the plastic I get from my pledge to make it much easier on myself
If you can play something like Marvel Champions, you can play Primal in like a 4 minute rules teach. The rulebook is just exhaustive in covering every obscure question and the setup variation for all the monsters and expedition vs. campaign modes. But it's a pretty straight forward game to teach and get the flow down.
Trump’s not an angel, but I’d still vote for him over the economy downturns this past 4 years. I want to afford more games!! Not less 😅 And ideally yeah, give me young candidates with some energy and perspective!

Admirable discipline!
@@jgregveneklasen2657 Lesson learned from buying too many video games that went unplayed for many years...
I'd love to see your list!
Tim Chuon just published the Andromeda's Edge "how to play" video. It is absolutely excellent and covers every detail.
We played it together last weekend..GREATNESS

Arcs base game is easy as hell to table. Campaign on the other hand is a bit more of a challenge. Arcs is a solid two player experience as well.
I feel your pain in regards to Marvel United and Death May Die.

I love Primal so far, been playing at at the three player counts, gotten in 3 sessions and its awesome.
I love oath and root so arcs is gonna be a good one, I think.
East coast here as well..... Till waiting for my M.U.M. all in. 😢
also, i missed CDMD and i want to buy it. I hope i can find a pledge with the stretch goals
Got my Bullet Pledge this week, definitely enjoying the new characters so far

Andromeda Edge is not hard to learn and it has essentially 16 different solo modes

The plastic in Skyrise is some of the most non-sense upgrade I’ve ever seen…

60 dollars for birds
Lol, lmao even
I agree, we should have presidential candidates under 70 and not convicted felons.

Skip Wingspan and go straight to Wyrmspan!
Just play Wingspan already. /facepalm
