This is how they opened the show when I saw them on that tour. Powerful stuff.
I was 16 and me and this girl was walking around outside, we didn't even know who REM were. This dude came up and try to scalp tickets. We said no, because we didn't have any money. Then you could hear the place start to get noisy inside and cars honking outside, so he got angry that he didn't sell the tickets, so he just gave them to us and left. We went in and snuck down to floor level, 20 rows back!! It was this show!!!!! It was AMAZING!!!!!
It's fire. Love Michael Dancing 💓💚
I like how mike mills embodies the quiet counteract to the erratic savagery of mr.Stipe on stage
dead set looks like a computer programmer
@@kernelab indeed.that 's the beauty of...
@@samaelcoral7297 yeh it’s awesome, zero fucks given. Yet to me he looks cool as fuck
Can't believe I've been in vietnam nearly fortnight and it's the first time I've played this song......

Michael Stipe dances like one of these inflatable stick figures.

No, those inflatable stick figures dance like Michael Stipe
pure awesomeness
That’s how they danced in the 80’s 😂
Brilliant!
Best American band ever!
That they are!
Best band ever!
Thier ok orange crush and man on the moon are great songs
I totally agree
I was there
This song really drawed attention to the effects of agent orange, and forced the government to do some thing and to admit they fucked up
Am sat watching the sun rise in vietnam. Is that right?
Not really they stopped using it in 72 and I remember plenty of news articles and lawsuits all thru the 70's.But nice try😂
Michael Stype and Lorde should do a duet and dance together they dance the same
Props come, props go... 🤷🏼♂️
Back in the early 80s I rescued a rat and named him Stipe Hibtone. Early fans will get it.
@@julzstaley3178 nice reference to their first single.
yikey mikey what's the lead singer on ? LOL sounds just as good as the version on the record!
He was always herky jerky on stage. Check out their first music videos.
What happened to Mike Mills' glasses at the end that he was wearing at the start?
i always wondered that too
Dance like nobody’s watching
Thay are british? Or Americans?

bill gates on bass guitar
Megaphone 100% prop. Can't really be on, or the feedback...
That's why he stood back. Many singers used a megaphone. Watch Stone Temple Pilots performing Crackerman. Tool use one too
Prop😂😂😂😂 hes used it for years ffs
So brave mocking the sacrifice of those who were stupid enough to say yes to their countries ask for service. REM are not really great guys. Good song musically, but that mocking of the Army by Stipe was uncalled for and really shows him to be the dork that he is.
Aight grandpa. Move on.
I mean, I'd say sending soldiers to another country for a war in another continent, where the only thing to lose was a country being commie, and ultimately losing it's bad. Let's not forget, the last time the US Military actually did something useful was in WW2, after that they've only made every single country they fight worse.
I am younger than Stipe, and yes I am a grandpa to a 3 almost 4 year old. I hope he grows up to realize what those men sacrificed for us.
@@joelhicklin38 They sacrificed nothing for you. They were sent to basically die. Vietnam is the most pointless war that americans fought.
Lol you do realise he is the son of a US service man right
