I was lucky enough to have a friend who played in a band with SRV . I was a huge fan before I met Alex and he told me some great stories about growing up in Oak Cliff with the Vaughn brothers . RIP Alex and Stevie
Love his coat with cowboy hat. Just fits him. ❤ He was such a beautiful soul, human being and legend. Oh how I hate that he is gone and we were all robbed of his unmatched talent and so many more years of his playing and new music. What a senseless, crying shame. 😢 (2024) 34 years later.
1:24 in the pan frame shot...I'm in the grey by the speaker stack with Rene....but I appear in the longer version for another flash. We were jamming just prior to this and hanging out chatting in the ramp up to THIS....if you can imagine that. Funny to be captured on Video to relive the moment in time
The man was rubbing his eyes and yawning he did this half asleep. But when he walked out with the leopard print coat, snakeskin cowboy boots and cowboy hat…you just knew shit was about to get real

That's a Professional....Not to take away from his stellar performance, but we used to have a lot of people who could do this in their respective industries. That was America.
Stevie crawls out of bead and rips off what very few guitarists can ever achieve. He was probably the most gifted guitarist to ever shit through an asshole.
When your sound check is better than most concerts
U ain't lying
The greatest.
This is one. Of his best video on the www...😊
Yes!
Glad I am old enough to have lived through this cyclone of talent.

His ability to go from 0-100 at the drop of a hat is BONKERS.
not to mention the rest of the band being spot on too
I am so glad this video is here! It is one of my favorites! How he can get up and start playing like he is in a concert is amazing! RIP SVR
"Ah, looks like my fingers are still warmed up from yesterday..... perfect"
😂
Hilarious
Spontaneous combustion on the guitar- ❤
I saw him play in Anchorage Alaska with Joe Cocker July 24 1990, one month later I heard on the rock station that he died.
This is one of my most favorite videos! SRV was amazing, imagine after just getting up. I believe the guitar was part of him. RIP SRV, you are missed!
This is what raw talent and the comittment to practicing 10hrs a day allows one to do. Shockingly amazing.
I was THERE...my screen shot profile picture......on that stage.....imagine that

He was a master on the Axe.
He was music.
The greatest showman ever
The best sound check I have ever seen MAMS
And as soon as he starts the band is right with.
Best way to wake up
🎼🤟♥️♥️♥️🤟🎼
This was recorded in Utica New York 1986 ! Not sure what month ! I was there
January 24th
SRV/DT were one of the tightest bands, if not the tightest band, I've ever heard. Even in a sound check, they're totally locked in with each other.
Excellent observation. They Instantly start playing tight. So good
Total loss. Missed. So much. Rest in Peace
I use this solo for my warmup also...........................................lol
I was looking for this a few weeks ago! Thanks for reposting!
It was in his DNA. Incredible.
My heart breaks...
Dios , un crack
The best three minutes of my life
If you're backing up SRV, you better be ready.

same lick for 19 times XD
That lick was hitting though
Yeah but if you listen real close, he was tweaking it just a hair to check the sound all the way around it. Dude was the best.
