So in Motorcycle sense, low revving long stroke might be okay with even 4 if not 5 gears, but high revving engine may need more at the top due to lesser torque than the low revving ones
Long back i used to own a Suzuki samurai 2 stroke bike. It was very smooth and had excellent pickup and adequate torque, spread nicely through it's 4 gear transmission. Everything was perfect till it got to 70kmph and then it would hit a sudden wall of resistance. It would feel very stained all of a sudden and i would attempt to shift up to the non-existent 5th gear and regret it's absence. I have done it almost each and everytime during my almost 10 years of ownership. Imagine that, knowing fully well it's a 4 gear box. An extra gear would've added another 10 to 15 extra kmph speed which would've been such a blessing back in those days. So instead of talking about cars with 10 gears and bikes with 14 gears, let's accept that between 4 and 6 gear bikes, the extra gear or gears is always a welcome advantage, either in extra speed or smoothness or economy.
@@mayurnair3551 Not like that. They can keep the first 4 gears in the exact same ratios and still add a 5th gear with an almost overdrive-like ratio, like the Honda h'ness or cb350 bikes. Yes it will make the gearbox a bit bigger, also keeping cost in mind they thought 4 gears are enough for a 100cc 2 stroke. If you take splendor 100cc, you won't need the 5th gear because you felt the power tapering off and the engine felt smoother but samurai had power left to push but it lacked the extra gear.
I have a genuine question about torque when it comes to EVs since you said that peak torque is always available in an EV The hyundai kona has 395nm of torque but only 100kw motor. Whereas some other new EVs have 150-200kw motor but none of them have more than 300-330nm of torque. So what difference does that additional torque make in an EV? The 0-100 time is the same on all of these cars, so im not understanding the meaning of torque in an EV. And why dont more cars come with 400nm of torque?
Vstrom cruising at 90kmph at 6k rpm at 6th gear... And pulsar 220 doing the same at 5 th gear... Whts the use of 6th gear 😂.. Companies just putting them without tuning them properly.. Or probably only vstrom

Guys, just a suggestion the freezed first frame is so annoying. Every time it happens, I feel there is something wrong with my internet connection 😢
Yep, an animation transitioning into the video would make it better
Same feeling
Yes sometimes i felt like its just a audio with the thumbnail
It's not a glitch. It's unique way of starting the clip.
Beginning freeze looks so odd, one is just waiting for the clip to go live !
6 is better than 5 imo because you get a lower cruising rpm and therefore better milage and refinement.

I don’t know why but even after riding my splendor for more than 2 years I always tried to shift to 5th gear 🙂
Same thing I felt with Nexon, 6th gear is there just to save some(very little) fuel, while cruising on highways(express highways :P).
Forget about torque, Gears are used to get varying speed, now it all depends how low or high speed you want or the engine is capable of......
Can you make a video on torque vs power it would be helpfull

Great
But remember, extra gear does not always give extra speed.
@yash_rajvanshi i said speed or smoothness and/or economy
but if they had to put additional gear for your bike, the bike would have had less torque in the first 4 gears and you would had to shift more.

On the RD350 it was torquey even in 6th 😅

Does Pulsar 250 need 6th gear?
But doesn't higher gear result in better fuel economy as they keep the RPM low
A perfect example is cb350 overdrive 5th gear
Motorcycle gear adds speed? Whaaaaaatt?? So the orange on ktm and red on ducati adding +20hp has been real this whole time!?!?
what's your point? 😅
