When I travel to the Caribbean, I love staying at all inclusives because its one less thing I have to think about. I don't have to worry about taking a cab/bus to a restaurant. It's worth it to me.
Completely agree! Spending more time driving in unfamiliar territory with a rental, maybe on the opposite side of the road than you're used to, to get all over the place breakfast lunch and dinner or go grocery shopping.... That isn't a vacation. Staying at an AI, relaxing on the beach, not worrying about where to go for the next meal and not having to cook.... That's the way to go.
@woltersworld I went to Turks&Caicos back in January, stayed for a week, rented Airbnb apartment, ate once per day at a restaurant, two times a day at the apartment and for the price of it all I could’ve gone for a 10 day trip to Cuba AND a 10 day trip to Iceland 😂 It is crazy expensive to have even remotely good times in Providenciales
100% Agree @mockbaboy!!! We were there in Jan (TCI-Provo) and did hte same - AirBNB, ate 2 of 3 meals (sometimes all 3) at AirBNB, and it was MORE expensive than our 15 day trip to Ireland (March 2023).
Loved your budget tips for the Caribbean, Mark, and Walter! 💸💡 Skipping all-inclusive, smart packing, and negotiating deals - such great advice! 🏖✈ Cheers to budget-friendly travels!
Wow. Yeah. You are not the only one. Our subscribers dont see our videos anymore. Our click through is the same as ever but the videos dont get put in front of a lot of subscribers anymore. We try to keep making helpful videos though. Glad to see we got through again 😀
@@woltersworld maybe start a mailing list ? There's a TH-camr called @Tom Scott and he has insane views the moment he launches a video. This is very timely as I'm in the very early stages of planning a possible birthday trip to the islands and am trying to narrow things down. Thanks Mark!
Good guide. I save money by going at the tail-ends of the Hurricane Season. But be careful to keep an eye on the Sargassum situation at your resort. P.S. I've done most of the Caribbean and Jamaica is at the bottom of my list.
I’ve been to Negril, Punta Cana, Turks and Caicos. Disliked DR, loved TC , and liked Negril. Have you been to Barbados? I need recommendations but I only like All inclusive.
You have to find a reputable place to rent a car on some certain islands. The place we rented a car for just two days, it was the last car on the lot. The gal working there gave us a big discount on our rental because it had no air conditioning. It was brutal. And on top of that, I was the only one in my group whose luggage went missing and all I had one was a light sweater and black leggings. Wearing that in a car with no A/C sucked. Thankfully my luggage showed up later that evening!
If you want travel carribean on a budget, you travel do it another way-hrlpx, workaway, etc. hostels, share air bnb with other travellers, local transport everywhere, only local food, make friends with local-by your planticket 6 month in advance or special offer..
I prefer all inclusives despite paying a little more. I'd rather not think about where to eat next and how to get there, and how much it costs for every little thing. Wear the band and enjoy without any worry in the resort. 😊
Thank you for your videos. Where would you recommend to stay non AI property in Aruba. My husband and I are finding the AI resorts very repetitive. We want to experience the local restaurants. beaches etc
Mark - do you have a favorite place you and the family like to visit in the Caribbean? We want to try it again... did Turks & Caicos (Provo) in Jan 2024 and it wasn't our vibe... we would like a bit more to do, maybe bigger waves, a bit more 'friendly' nature and just 2 of us (no kids) - okay with 2-3 star, AirBNB, etc. Any tips? Coming from the Midwest USA. Thanks in advance!!
Do you recommend doing a travel agent? I did get several quotes from 2 different travel agents for our last trip the 4 of us because I didn't know where I wanted to go and it was my & family's 1st time out of country. But I found cheaper prices doing it myself on cheap carribean. But when we got to resort they couldn't find my reservation. But they fixed it quickly. This time I'm on a strict budget and wanting to book for 6 adults so I'd like a family suite and a separate room so 3 rooms.
Very helpful video! This might be a dumb question, but for Puerto Rico, just how big is the island? Is it like the size of Texas or more like Rhode Island? Just trying to get a sense of travel time between towns, if you get my drift.
Best travel channel out there! 👍
Thank you so much

Amen!
Same!!! I only drink on vacation really, and love filling my yeti up with alcohol after breakfast and hanging out at the pool or beach.
Cozumel for the win. Cheap, safe, and fabulous.

As a local it’s even more expensive for us, I don’t know how we does make it sometimes!
I wondered about that quite a few times
@@woltersworld 😅 we do it the old fashioned way, we do with out and deal with out it lol 😌then migrate if we get the opportunity.

Good advice. I did a jeep tour in Aruba, but I was traveling alone
Very helpful video!

Where was this in the Dominican Republic? The water looks so much better than Punta Cana. When is the best time to visit the DR?

Where are you going or where did you go in Camyan Island?

It's a little bigger than Rhode Island but smaller than Connecticut
Like eddie saod
What if I want a weaker drink so I can just skip the tip right
Sounds like a tourist trap
