Have you experienced the MC-707 scatter fx? The default settings are a bit cheesy but customising them they have some really cool and inspiring features - might be worth investigating for future ideas. Very compatible with the octa workflow.

This sounds awesome top to bottom, from the fx to the demos. I kinda wrote you off after watching an older video with similar stuff that just didn’t hit for me. I recall a riser effect that just turned me way off. This is worlds apart, so great work!

so do I understand correctly that you can't use this template with compositions that use the Octatrack tracks for musical content, as opposed to an external device?
This project is exactly what you need to onboard directly octa. Tbf for the process elektron should include some kind of template like this. Having a lot of fun with all the effect banks and reverse engineering as many effects as possible. This is very good information to share with community 👍🏽
The layout of the scenes on this template is very intuitive. Gonna modify it for 8 bars and be set. I would love to see something like this using two separate AB / CD busses like the old templates. I enjoy stuttering melodies only. Sounds really dope.
Okay. Punch in fx are a ton of fun. Being able to add that feature to any signal flow would be amazing. This has me considering a used octatrack more seriously than ever, just to run this fx template. But with my luck as soon as I do they will announce a new octatrack

This is totally badass! Nice work man :) The only thing I can think of is, if this one is sort of designed with more high BPM EDM in mind, maybe start making variations on this theme. I create stuff that's core is sound design orientated industrial/trip hop, and I'd love to sprinkle in more IDM/glitch textures into that. Those usually rely on lower BPM, lots of space, etc. Anyway, just a thought. I can still just buy this one and alter to taste and tempo. You're doing awesome stuff, and you're always a great resource for Elektron boxes and Octatrack. Thanks for putting the time in.
Paid for the project, and finally got around to play with it. 22$ is a bit expensive for a "preset of a machine" from a random youtuber I didn't know about a few days ago... But this is worth every penny :) This template is AWESOME !!! Thanks EZBOT for the hardwork !

Is it mad to consider purchasing an Octatrack just for these FX? Or are there similar alternatives out there like the Sp404 or Korg replay … I just can’t see anything else that’s available solely for punching FX on the fly with that many cool sounds …!!!
Big up. Superb way to add complexity to a simple rhythm. Would it be possible to implement something similar to this on the digitakt 2 using some dedicated midi tracks of the dt combined with the new macro function?

If no - can you one day take us under the hood of one of your stutter effects - Id love to try to design a couple for your older template in my OT. you play them so fast in your demos that I cannot tell what's going on! like a true magician!

Would it be possible to only use like 3/4 of the effects to still have some tracks playing on the octatrack I dont have one yet but it should arive in about a week and i want to use ist for chopping breaks ans soul samples and get kicks and synth Sounds out of my preenfm3 and my lxr 02 Now i am wondering if i could get some effects but still be able to use like 2 or 4 track Regulary
You could replicate some of the effects but not all of them. I am going to rehearse a tutorial on how to build is soon, then folks can design it themselves
Hi Matthew, I have try to reproduce your FX template on my Octatrack MK2 using a Thru Track on Track 1 and Neighbor Tracks on 2-4. A step 1 is set on Track 1. Pattern 1-4 using Part 1. Mixer is set to A+B and C with DIR on 127. I repeat it for Pattern 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16. If I press Play on Pattern 1 I hear the incoming audio but no FX at all. Also If I use Scene A or B. What is wrong?

what's the most "minimal" friendly template? This sounds nice if you are doing some specific kind of music with a lot of stuff going on, but so much glitch can be a bit off putting on something more minimal and atmospheric
@ Yeah, just the volume. I was hoping there was a way to get the Dirtywave to play at the same level as the Rytm without lowering the Rytm’s volume, but whatever works. Thanks for the response. 👍
Yoyo - I just recently got these 'parse errors' messages on the OT when opening a project. These results in having a Bank disappear. I get it back when I 'save to new' and delete the old project. It’s very frightening though bc it feels like I can’t rely on the OT when performing live. Do you have experience and/or tips with these 'parse errors'? Help is very appreciated! 🙏🏼
I love what you do and this sounds amazing, that being said I will never buy another OT. I hated everything about the OS and didn’t gel with it. I guess I’m an MPC person 🤷♂️
Would you find this useful in a doom influenced style of music? I use dn as my brain m/c as drums and a bs2 for well bass. I’m wanting to add choir style vocals and rips from old movies as samples. I feel like this would open the door to a new style of writing but I’m torn between oc,rytm or blackbox

I don't think there is a piece of gear that can quite yet, except maybe Push 3

Not at all, these effects don’t exist on a 404. These are live resample fx with time stretch. Your computer could do it with max for live though

Dumb question: I’m using the Dirtywave and the Analog Rytm. What’s the best way to keep the sound of the AR from drowning out the Dirtywave?
I am not sure what you mean, do you mean the volumes? I would just adjust each track until they all fit together
