- For this video while on a road trip from Rochester,NY to Miami Florida and then back-Jon decided to take a pit stop in here in Richmond to let me review his badass little Fiat Abarth! It was a great opportunity to drive something very different and see how it felt driving this little go kart around in the rain. As always, thanks for watching and stay awesome. Nice... Now this is a review. Glad to see people really starting to appreciate the Abarth for what it is. We drove it last year, posted it on my channel last year and honestly almost took it with us as our support vehicle for the Italian Stampede in Cali last year. its roomy and to be honest it kept up surprisingly well with some of the exotics on the run. Few mods and BAM, what a fun car. Great review as usual bar none. Kudos.

I had a Fiat Abarth for a couple days this last summer. It's nothing I would ever buy but WOW. what an incredible car! It has a lot of go for such a tiny thing! Lots of fun to drive!

I love little cars like this, they're just fun to drive.
After upgrading the turbo, ECU, exhaust,short shifter, and injectors Dyno @310.3bhp. Didn't think this car would be this reliable.
I recommending getting a used one. Mine was 15k with 18k miles on it. Running about a car length at the strip better than the 5.0coyote mustang. You gotta test drive these things major attention.
That's a lot of power and torque for that little car. They sound great.

@@braydencrawford3048 no issues from daily driving. i auto-crossed mine for 2-3 years and it did well, but because of the autocross i used aftermarket wheels, lugs, etc and there is wear and tear on mine not from daily driving. but highly recommended the car is too fun even just driving around normal streets in daily life hahah. you dont even need to make any mods on it for racing, just race tires. its basically stock ready for racing. maybe maybe you could switch to better brake pads if you are racing.

Love the exhaust note of these things, it sounds like the 03-05 SRT-4. Just AWESOME!!!

I dont see many abarths in scotland and it's usually guys driving them, the base 500 though screams of daddy's girl.

I have feel the same way about my wrx needing a 6th gear. Im a 3k rpm when on the highway and its would be so much better with that extra gear

I have a 2012 Sport that I have invested almost $10K CAD in aftermarket parts, they are a blast to drive and I've been doing the show circuit with mine. I'm from Prince Edward Island Canada and there's a total of about 5 500's in the entire province. 500Madness and Road Race Motorsports out of California are amazing tuners for these cars.
i just bought a 12 looks exactly like this 1 i absolutely love its my daily, 10.5 gallons 340 miles an 8 days on one tank
Super cool, love the review. I actually really like these, as close to a go-kart as you can get. The aftermarket support and the fan base is amazing too.
Ayyyyeee, Rochester, NY shout-out. You would love to drive some of the cars here, you might have heard of places like Roc Euro, redi imports, Little Speedshop or STM. Anywho, another great review man, keep up the good work.
I checked one out earlier today, truthfully even at 6'4" I found it pretty comfortable and had more than enough headroom, granted I didn't have the sunroof. I'm actually considering picking one up just to tune, mod and play with something different from every one else.
Do it, I promise you won't regret it. I've had mine since June and I've already put 6000 miles on it.
+Deviate I ended up with it, it is a fun lil bastard and now can't wait to start the upgrades.

Sad that all those jerk came and ruined the stream. I'll let you know you are my favorite youtuber! I wish there only was 3 days a week so i could get a new dose of your awesome personality and life experiences. Ignore the trolls and haters, there are so many people supporting you. (Might sound like fanboying protecting you but you don't deserve the hate over internet)
I am currently driving a Peugeot 106 with nearly 19,300 miles. And is considered since its release a daily drive car here in Italy or Europe (even on the highway). And it's also normal that the 500 is used daily. Then even a car with small sizes make the difference compared to a big/huge one.
As well as many other hatchback, including: "your" Ford Fiesta, the VW Polo, Renault Clio, A1 and many others such as the Peugeot 208 or even the bigger Focus, Golf, A3 and MB A-Class.
Sorry to read a lot of criticism about these "tiny" cars, but nowadays these cars make a difference compared to big v6 / v8 with powerful engines when you can pull out 200hp or more from a 1.6 liter.
Which is a shame that such cars are not totally imported in the United States.
Luckily, people like David and subaruwrxfan appreciate these hatchback!

That's almost as deep a tone as my Forester when I did my muffler delete. Holy shit.
I'm just about to turn over 33k on my 2012 Abarth. It's a great commuter vehicle. 30.6 mpg average over that mileage (always in sport mode) with most of it being city roads. Yes, it is set up with negative camber for better handling and you have to get the tires rotated with every oil change or you'll wear one side out. This is my third Pittsburgh winter in it and it's never let me down. You do have to run 91 octane fuel, so the gas is a bit more of an expense.
+Glenn Miller I get 30mpgs with over 300hp in mine. Handles well without the camber adjusting. Cost $21.00 to fill up with premium with the Meirs food discount on gas card.....lol
overseas parts. UK. large turbo and tune with the ECU. New cam and pistons.

Art2Gecko I got rid of the Abarth after the two local Fiat Studios closed and the third one, which was a 100 mile round trip, stopped carrying any inventory. I could see the writing on the wall. Loved the car, but I also needed something I could jump in and drive 8 or 9 hundred miles. The Abarth wasn't made for that.

I own a 2013 fiat 500 abarth and every single thing he says is 100% true for me. Couldn't have described it better myself. The little abarth also get surprisingly low mpg's, i'm only getting around 23ish with mostly urban 35-45ish driving.

I really like the Abarth.. My car has same motor, but bigger car.. sound very nice..Even on stock exhaust, the sound is amazing. I have the Dart, and it almost sounds like a SRT Neon. After full throttle or half throttle, the popping sound is awesome
The ABARTH (SLEEPER) is a VERY quick light weight car with a simple tune it gets 280 HP as seen on another video-WOW:)

I don't know if you have heard one of these stock......... but it sounds pretty similar... short exhaust plus no mufflers is a good combination. Anyways I am not all about those headlight covers, seems like the owner is compensating for the car... "I make it mean!!!!"

I can't believe how nasty that thing sounds for such a small motor. You are 100% right about that. But I do not believe the exhaust is what gives it the cracks and pops. It definitely gives it that amazing tone, but from what i heard it sounds like the tune has been made to give it those cracks and pops on decel.
I like the Abarths but they def. needs a short throw shiter. Great video David. Cool ending btw.
I love this car. I drove one the other day and it's a lot quicker than I was expecting.
What a lot of people don't know is that the US Abarth makes 160hp and 170tq to the wheels stock. A guy dynoed his stock Abarth and made 170hp and 180tq, so the stock motor is underrated for what it really makes.
I'm making around 190hp to the wheels, a bit over 200tq to the wheels

Actually, Fiat owns Chrysler. Last year, they purchased the final 41% of stakes that it didn't have. The deal was done for 4 billion dollars. It is now called Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Or, "FCA" interesting stuff.

Cool outro but I think it's too complex and it should be more simple. It just doesnt fit your channel. That's just my opinion on it.

My friend has a 2014 dodge dart aero redline, it has a 1.4l turbo and he says it's the same layout as this fiat.
He has a 6 speed and I know this has only a 5, so maybe people could consider swapping the 6 speed into it if it's not all around too complicated. I have very little research on this, but it wouldn't be a bad idea if it could work
its a lot of work. the frame rail is larger because of safety standards in the US.
Nope, you have have to reroute the axles, etc. Essentially the entire underbody would need to be changed to fit the extra gear and size of the transmission.

The exhaust doesn't sound and different than a stock Abarth. Have you even heard a stock one? Sounds like a waste of money to me. (FYI I owned a 2013 Abarth)
