By developing their homegrown talent and letting them elevate all the way up to the main event instead of overpaying talent from the WWE and completely ignoring your own talent to the point where they leave for your competition and end up putting you out of business. Don’t have creative control clauses in contracts when it comes to pro wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and have people that actually know about pro wrestling and like it unlike Jim Herd, Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara, and Mark Madden.
We could go on and on about this. But at Fall Brawl 98 - it should have been NWO black & white vs NWO Wolfpac, but Hogan was jealous they were more over. After that, they should have went back to back to a smaller core of one NWO group. Goldberg should have lost at the NWO PPV Souled Out and got screwed at THEIR PPV. Bret Hart should have always been a babyface and should finally wrestled Hogan. With Neidhart, Bulldog, and Jericho there - they could have possibly made another Canadian faction. Get rid of Thunder. Once they changed the WCW Nitro set in early 1999, Nash to the book, and David Flair was always on tv (that’s when I turned the channel). The skits with Torrie - he couldn’t act and he couldn’t wrestle. Flair vs Hogan in back to back PPV’s shouldn’t have happened. Thought it was 94 again. And just the inmates running the asylum. They needed to make new stars.
Ted Turner took the company from losing money to being thr #1 company Kevin Sullivan booked the shows in 96:97.. All Bischoff did was spend another Mans money.. He deserves zero credit for the 83 weeks imho
@CannedHam2479 true but that other man's money helped bring in Scott Hall and Nash which if the offer wasn't as good as it was they may have stayed in WWE, at least for a little while longer and things wouldn't have got to a good start for WCW until probably at a later time. It was at the right time and at the right moment, especially since WWE wasn't as hot at that moment
I remember when Scott was doing the toothpick thing and the Hispanic accent before Razor as the Diamond Studd. If anyone remembers that then we are old. 😂
It's been said obviously, but had they not mentioned WWE so much, pushed younger talent more while they were on top, and focused on themselves a bit more they could have lasted longer on top. And could have at least lasted longer than they did when WCW was bought.
I don’t think they would have ever fully won the war in the way WWE did, but I do believe there was a way for them to have existed even all the way up to today. Look at how long TNA has gone despite never even getting close to as big as WCW did.
It’s the double edged sword. Hogan is the reason they got where they did, but he also was a big reason that ship sank. Live by the hulkster, die by the hulkster, brother.
It was gonna end regardless man. Even if Hogan had the Greatest run ever, AOL/Time Warner were throwing all the losses onto WCW books to HELP sink them. They were dead, just the last to know
Wcw was just as much sports entertainment. As a matter of fact, pro wrestling is sports entertainment. There's no difference. If you want wrestling, watch amateur wrestling
Give the nwo splits up, maybe not let everyone in the nwo, maybe not push hogan as hard as he was.... A brand split would a been really good , especially a war between the flock and the nwo would a been cool. I dunno it was dead in the water when they decided to say they're gonna put the belt on mick foley!
Eric couldn’t have bought WCW. Kevin Nash spilled the beans. Along with WWE winning that Razor/Diesel lawsuit - was them getting FIRST DIBS (or rights) to buy WCW.
Eric said "actually Zane worked for me..." Wrong Eric. You were just a mid level manager. You ALL worked for WCW. You ALL worked for the guy whose name was on your paycheck. Maybe you managed some staff but managers are supposed to lead by example. We see how that worked out for WCW. Eric is literally the pointed headed boss from Dilbert. Usually wrong and never in doubt.
How could WCW have won the Monday Night Wars? Let us know in the comments below!

Used Bret Hart better
As long as they were owned by a corporation and had massive guaranteed contracts they could never win.
They were doomed from the beginning.

Erick is a very smart man you got to give him credit and even if you don't this dude took a company loosing money to the #1 wrestling show on earth .
True but the mistakes were hard to come back from, and of course the new executives didn't make things easier
Ted Turner took the company from losing money to being thr #1 company
Kevin Sullivan booked the shows in 96:97.. All Bischoff did was spend another Mans money.. He deserves zero credit for the 83 weeks imho
Took it to the #1 wresting show on earth… that still lost money and died.

@@SG-wy3tb Thats why i give Turner credit, but NOT Bischoff

Had Bischoff stood own 2 feet and shot down Hulk Hogan a few times, WCW would still be around.

100% false- about shooting Hogan down
The only man to ever make Vince McMahon lose sleep…. Give Bischoff his credit
News: “Someone angered Vince again!”
Response: “Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?”
Eric KNEW how to push Vince's inner 😈 💯
6:32 I like Eric's honesty here.
Somebody should ask him about the Pay-Per-View companies shutting off Halloween havoc
That's got to be the worst JR impression I've ever heard lol
He turned his back because he didn’t want to admit that Vince won…. But he’s happy to rehash the 83 weeks anytime he’s asked 😂
Lemme ask you this...
Do you ever get tired of telling stories people enjoy hearing, when it's about you own greatest successes?
Stop
Mr. Perfect told Scott to do the toothpick.
Thought Eric was gonna sue Ric Flair for $2 million… because he went to Reid’s wrestling tournament
The WCW was better even at the end. People are just sheep and were told the WWF was better.
It doesn't matter what you think ...
WCW was wrestling WWE was sports entertainment. Both were great for what they were
Wcw was just as much sports entertainment.
As a matter of fact, pro wrestling is sports entertainment. There's no difference.

Not a single person on that roster held a candlestick to either rock or austin NOBODY
@blasterra91 you have NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SHUT YOUR TRAP!!!!!!!!

The rock kicked ass, took over Hollywood
okay i had enough. i unsubscribed. i am so sick of getting drip fed pieces of interviews for years. Piss off

The host has terrible hair my goodness
u gey?
Since the competition is gone it got boring.
AEW exist
WWE destroyed wrestling
